To think my toilet roll is causing my muff to ming?

I'm prone to chronic cystitis and have been for years. At one point my GP put my antibiotics on repeat prescription.

Anyway back to my question. I started with cystitis at the end of last week and got antibiotics within an hour. I took the full course but still didn't feel like it had cleared completely and although not in pain I still have discomfort. It's suddenly occurred to me that at the same time last week I changed my toilet roll to a fancy coconut loo roll.

Anyone else found they have killer loo roll?

I can only use Andrex white or I get sore bits.....

NotTheMrMenAgain · 05/06/2018 07:42

I can't use any scented loo roll as it gives me thrush! I accidentally bought loo roll that had a scented tube that supposedly smelt like autumn and had to get rid of it - first of all WTF? Why would anyone need loo roll to smell of autumn, and secondly that all just smell like air freshener.

Even plain loo roll is an irritation if it's too fluffy and bits come off. Think I've just got an irritable vagina, which makes sense cos it matches the rest of me Confused

DOTLEYtheONEeyedDINO · 05/06/2018 07:43

"Muff to Ming" excellent phrase!

AuntieStella · 05/06/2018 07:43

Scented loo roll - what fresh hell is this!

I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole, let alone my undercarriage.

I don't get on with scented sanpro either

Prusik · 05/06/2018 07:44

Plain white loo roll for me. My heart sinks when I visit a friend and see peachy colour toilet roll as I know I'll have raging thrush the next day. Even if I just Dan slightly. why don't I carry my.own loo roll??

Ohyesiam · 05/06/2018 07:44

Have you discovered Mannose D for chronic cystitis op? It’s a life changer.

Coconut loo roll does sound like it could make any fanny ill.

PigWhisperer · 05/06/2018 07:44

My cystitis comes from bath bubbles, scented soap anything with a perfume. Back to plain loo roll for you!

abbsisspartacus · 05/06/2018 07:45

Have you considered reusable loo roll 》runs fast 》》

Singlenotsingle · 05/06/2018 07:48

We use the coconut toilet roll. No problems with it, and it smells lovely

Justgimmeit · 05/06/2018 07:48

I know everyone is blaming the loo roll but is this the same antibiotic you usually take? If so you may have develpoed a resistance so it hasnt fully worked

forumdonkey · 05/06/2018 07:49

I knew you guys would be amazing.

I bought a huge pack too ffs.

I got some coconut loo roll from Ocado to review and the first thing I said to DH when it turned up was that it was thrush waiting to happen and that I wasn’t going to touch it. It stunk my whole kitchen out ffs.

ijustwannadance · 05/06/2018 07:51

Even some of the non scented stuff is bad. Bloody Andrex has all sorts of special infused with aloe vera, moist, 'fresh' etc.

DwangelaForever · 05/06/2018 07:52

YANBU Tesco coconut oil tissue (as bought by hubby 🙄) gave me thrush and a UTI Angry

AuntyJackiesBrothersSistersBoy · 05/06/2018 07:57

Don’t use any shower gel or soap. I use Dermol shower cream. No “ming” here 😊

firehousedog · 05/06/2018 07:59

I can't use the supermarket basics stuff. Its too dry and cardboard like for my parts Blush

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 05/06/2018 08:00

Often the best is the cheapest. We use Costco brand and never had issues like I did when used charmin andrew etc

picklemepopcorn · 05/06/2018 08:02

I can't use the cheapest! Own brand is ok but not value. My heart sinks when I go and stay somewhere with poor loo roll...

DailyMailClickbait · 05/06/2018 08:02

Lolling at your thread title. No scented loo roll here - just 387387424 rolls of Costco's finest Grin

CloudCaptain · 05/06/2018 08:04

Sounds like you need a bidet.

LakieLady · 05/06/2018 08:06

Why would anyone need loo roll to smell of autumn,

Autumn smells damp and musty and fungal imo - all those fallen leaves starting to rot.

If my bathroom smelt like autumn, I'd think we had a damp problem. And if my nethers smelt like that, I'd be very worried indeed!

BexleyRae · 05/06/2018 08:07

DP complains when I won't let him buy scented or infused loo roll, he thinks I'm being dramatic. I'll show him this thread

Jozxyqk · 05/06/2018 08:08

Scented toilet roll. Thought up by the same minds that brouht us scented sanitary wear... I suspect they all have shares in Canesten.

Strugglingtodomybest · 05/06/2018 08:09

Scented loo roll? What? Why? That's just weird.

dancinfeet · 05/06/2018 08:10

I like the Regina brand of loo roll (Wilko / Home Bargains / Savers) because it's soft but not too fluffy so doesn't leave you covered in bits, it's white and unscented and a reasonable price too.
They do good quality kitchen roll too.
