To use the same towel all week

Is that disgusting?

We use the same towels all week and wash them once a week on a Sunday. I thought this was fine until someone told me they change their towels every day.

Changing them daily is a waste!

Lacucuracha · 02/06/2018 14:26

Absolutely fine. Using a fresh towel every day is disgusting - for the environment. Terribly wasteful.

TERFragetteCity · 02/06/2018 14:27

It is fine. Why wouldn't it be?

FASH84 · 02/06/2018 14:27

Daily is a waste I probably use two a week and then a few hair turban towel things

Queenoftheblitz · 02/06/2018 14:27

I tend to wash them after a few uses.

Amatullah · 02/06/2018 14:27

Yes thats perfectly fine..! Ive even gone 2 weeks..meh.. my logic is im clean when i come out of the bloody bath..Wink

Stickitupthebunting · 02/06/2018 14:28

Aren't you clean when you use them? Ours are washed when they get a bit minging, I'm not sure how often that is.

Proseccoagain · 02/06/2018 14:32

Towels changed once a week here too, we're clean when we come out of the shower.

MoonsAndJunes · 02/06/2018 14:33

All towels washed weekly here too.
We have two each -one for body after baths /showers and one for hair/face.
If you are dirty then so are we! Grin

KAT0779 · 02/06/2018 14:34

I would say I use mine for approx 5 days before changing it, but I don't count the days so wouldn't say a week was too bad. I hear people saying they use a clean towel every day but I would not be able to keep up with the washing if we all did this x

vinegarqueen · 02/06/2018 14:34

Bloody hell how many washes must they do a week if they wash all the towels every day? Ours go in the wash once a week and we air them out on the line daily as otherwise they don't dry out properly. I thought that was pretty clean!

GrandTheftWalrus · 02/06/2018 14:35

DP was shocked when he moved in that I washed my towels after every use. Now it's at least 3 times use for a bath towel.

GrandTheftWalrus · 02/06/2018 14:36

However if I've used a towel on my hair like a turban I wash that one straight away. Dunno why.

BewareOfDragons · 02/06/2018 14:37

Incredibly environmentally unfriendly to wash them every time you use them.

DuchessofManchester · 02/06/2018 14:37

I change ours every three days unless dh has left his lying on the bathroom floor so it's soaked through Angry

Clarich007 · 02/06/2018 14:37

I wash mine after every 2 or 3 days when they start to smell not as fresh

mayaknew · 02/06/2018 14:38

Nothing enraged me more than finding 5-6 perfectly clean and dry towels in teen Dds washing basket!!😡

My rule is you use a towel until it is too damp or too dirty to use again.

EastMidsMummy · 02/06/2018 14:39

How disgustingly minging must you be after a shower if drying the clean water from your clean body means you can’t use the towel again?

Lacucuracha · 02/06/2018 14:40

Let him wash his own towels or use the soaked one Duchess.

That's so disrespectful.

Bluelady · 02/06/2018 14:40

I wash mine once a week, he's only here at weekends so once a fortnight for his.

NorthernKnickers · 02/06/2018 14:44

This always comes up here...together with 'how often do you change your sheets?' And I'm always aghast at those who claim to change them daily! It's frankly ridiculous and there's no need. Weekly here too OP (and I've sometimes gone longer when I've been too busy or just forgotten...I haven't died yet, or contracted any awful diseases!)

happymummy12345 · 02/06/2018 14:47

We all use the same towel for a few days. By which I mean we each use a separate towel for a few days. Otherwise we'd be getting through 21 towels a week Shock. That's a lot of towels.

fantasmasgoria1 · 02/06/2018 14:49

We use one towel each for three showers then change out towels but sometimes I might use it again!

MaryPeary · 02/06/2018 14:50

If they don't smell, it's fine. If you air them between uses, ie hung on a towel rail, they should be perfectly good for several uses. We don't get virtue points for wasting water and energy out of paranoia!

Bixx · 02/06/2018 14:52

It’s fine. I wash towels once a week too. Complete waste of money, energy and time to do it every day.
