Obsessing over the fucking Royal Wedding?!

P L E A S E

I’m dreading tomorrow. I drive in residential areas to get to my old dears, no doubt I’ll be held up by bastarding street parties and other nonsense.

Agree. What a shower of shit it is. Some people have got nothing better to do than obsess over two people they don't know I suppose.

rightwellthen · 18/05/2018 13:04

Yaaaaay weddings!!!

Pickleypickles · 18/05/2018 13:05

YANBU i haye weddings for people i know let alone the ones i dont.

CaptainCabinets · 18/05/2018 13:05

We can all camp out on this thread until Sunday.

Royal Wedding safe space. Grin

Wakemeuuuup · 18/05/2018 13:07

But you're all talking about the wedding!

Skiiltan · 18/05/2018 13:07

I had to turn the radio off on my way to work this morning because something that is supposed to be a news programme was spending what seemed like half an hour talking about wedding dresses.

I've nothing particular against the royals: I'd rather have them than an elected president. I have no complaint about there being extensive television coverage: I don't have to watch it. But I despise the fawning, simpering "journalists" trying to make us think all the surrounding trivia about the Markle family and items of clothing are important.

CaptainCabinets · 18/05/2018 13:08

Actually, we’re talking about the sheep who are obsessed with the wedding to the point where it’s all they talk about.

And my post was about being held up whilst driving tomorrow. Wink

dinosaurkisses · 18/05/2018 13:08

I don’t care about people getting excited (indeed, I’m using it as an excuse to have some friends round and get pissed on prosecco) but the eleventy-million threads on here about MM’s family and who’s walking her down the doffing aisle are v tiresome.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 18/05/2018 13:11

Dreading it? Just don't watch it, don't read the threads on here.

Don't start threads about it.

desertmum · 18/05/2018 13:12

I yelled at the TV and then turned it off when trying to watch the NEWS this morning . . It was all about the wedding - their union has obviously brought about world peace Grin I'll be so glad when it is all over. Fortunately I will be at work at a very remote site with no internet. Happy day.

GalwayWayfarer · 18/05/2018 13:12

Oh god just let people enjoy things

caroldecker · 18/05/2018 13:13

NAVE - Nave-fukkity-NAVE

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 18/05/2018 13:15

well, you just started a thread about it, so you are part of it.

ethelfleda · 18/05/2018 13:16

Is this not another Royal Wedding thread??
I must admit I've heard very little about it and didn't realise it was tomorrow until I read this! But then I've been watching nothing but Downton Abbey for the last few weeks Grin

paxillin · 18/05/2018 13:18

36 hours and nobody will mention it again. No more big royal weddings for a generation once this one is done and dusted.

Another Middleton-Windsor baby no doubt and a couple of Markle-Windsors and it is over for 25 years.

nocoolnamesleft · 18/05/2018 13:22

One of my fb "friends" has posted at least 3 items a day about how crap the wedding is, and how they're all parasites, and all the attention is sickening. I had to point out that, as of a couple of days ago, he was the only single person who had come up on my feed with stuff about the wedding. Ironically.

ahouseofleaves · 18/05/2018 13:24

36 hours and nobody will mention it again

Can't wait for it to be over. I'm not the in UK, US, or the Commonwealth, even, and still, this wedding is in the news.

Enough.

rightwellthen · 18/05/2018 13:27

I'm reading "perfect wives in ideal homes" by Virginia Nicholson and there's a whole chapter about the Coronation and the role it played in everyone's lives.

I like any cause for celebration- not to the point where I obsess over it- but I think it's nice to have some ceremony and festivities!

ReluctantCamper · 18/05/2018 13:29

from the little I've gleaned before I'm able to turn the radio off, it sounds like the markles are fucking bonkers and best ignored. I'd guess that's what megan wishes the world would do.

I heard on PM yesterday (ffs) that her half sister has now broken her ankle in some sort of altercation with the paparazzi. you seriously could not make it up.

ReluctantCamper · 18/05/2018 13:29

sorry, that was talking about the wedding I realise.

I'll get my coat.

MatildaTheCat · 18/05/2018 13:30

So, in order to get to your old dears you will have to negotiate a large herd of sheep..are you a farmer in the Windsor area? Or perhaps you work in a wildlife park?

‘Old dears’ isn’t a very nice expression for, presumably, your clients and I am trembling with excitement (almost) at some first class people watching. From the comfort of my home. I trust this works for you? Hmm

SoapOnARoap · 18/05/2018 13:30

Is it tomorrow then?

ThisIsTheFirstStep · 18/05/2018 13:30

Actually, we’re talking about the sheep who are obsessed with the wedding to the point where it’s all they talk about

God, yes, if you're interested in something, you must be a 'sheep'.

What is it that you're interested in that is sooooo amazing that only non-sheep could possibly understand?

I am not interested in it either, so I don't read about it. It's not that hard.

RunMummyRun68 · 18/05/2018 13:31

Another royal wedding thread??

Seriously!

RunMummyRun68 · 18/05/2018 13:32

soap I think so.... not too sure. If only there were more threads to keep us fully informed! Then we would know more detail
