Obsessing over the fucking Royal Wedding?!

P L E A S E

I’m dreading tomorrow. I drive in residential areas to get to my old dears, no doubt I’ll be held up by bastarding street parties and other nonsense.

Yabu.
You might not give a f* but there are plenty in this country that get happiness from the royal family and a royal wedding, rightly or wrongly, gives them an escape and momentary joy in their lives.

TeenTimesTwo · 18/05/2018 13:33

It's more interesting than football though ...

I'd rather watch a couple getting married and thousands enjoying the day than 22 grown men running around a field kicking a ball around.

PestymcPestFace · 18/05/2018 13:33

Luckily I don't have to work tomorrow, so shall be going to my allotment.

To those of you who do have to work, good luck. Most traffic will be low, but street parties can be a pain if you are not going and have something to do.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/05/2018 13:33

I'm in! 😆

ThisIsTheFirstStep · 18/05/2018 13:33

run so why comment?

I am not interested in prams or organic food or going to Dubai, so I don't open those threads.

Why not start a thread in something you ARE interested in?

Are you like this in person too? Do you run up to people at parties and tell them to stop discussing stuff you're not interested in?

Bugjune · 18/05/2018 13:34

I flew to Mexico last minute to get away from the hysteria over William and Kate's wedding, wish I could've packed up and gone away this time too.

LizB62A · 18/05/2018 13:34

I'll join - I'm so pissed off with the BBC News app putting out alerts about whether or not her dad is coming etc.
I couldn't care less and it is not a matter for the national news !!

ThisIsTheFirstStep · 18/05/2018 13:34

bugjune I was in London for the last wedding and I barely noticed it was happening.

Maybe stop opening threads and reading articles about it?

CaptainCabinets · 18/05/2018 13:35

I had an operation on the day of the last one so I was doped up to the eyeballs and blissfully unaware Grin

OP posts:
MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 18/05/2018 13:35

I'm so fucking fed up of hearing it already TBH.

Bugjune · 18/05/2018 13:37

Lucky you, ThisIsTheFirstStep. I can only assume you didn't switch on your TV or hold a conversation with anyone.

amusedbush · 18/05/2018 13:38

I don't care about it and I won't be watching it but I will definitely google afterwards to see the dress Blush

CaptainCabinets · 18/05/2018 13:40

It’s funny because all the people salivating over the wedding seem to think the only opinions that can be held about it are positive ones and that if people are fed up with it, they’re not allowed to say so. Grin

OP posts:
DottieDaydream · 18/05/2018 13:41

I'm off on holiday tomorrow with a Kindle full of books.
I'll miss the whole fucking spectacle & I couldn't be happier.

CheeseTheDay · 18/05/2018 13:45

Agreed. No need for the eleventy-billion threads on it.

BeyondThePage · 18/05/2018 13:46

I do not care about the wedding really. It is, however, history being made, he is marrying a non-white, divorced, American actress, the times have changed for the better.

I will watch if I remember - because I work in a pharmacy all the customer small talk next week will be of the wedding, so is nice to be up with the current state of affairs.

LeafyLainey · 18/05/2018 13:46

It does make me laugh, all my social media things the only people talking about the wedding are the people who "don't want to talk/Read/hear" about the wedding! I know people (myself included) who are planning on watching it but aren't talking about it all over social media!
If you really think news outlets aren't going to talk about a prominent member of the royal family getting married you really are silly! If you don't care about it stop talking about it and turn your tellies off tomorrow simple!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 18/05/2018 13:47

No one makes you clicking on the Wedding threads. Or indeed starting another one.

ThisIsTheFirstStep · 18/05/2018 13:47

can only assume you didn't switch on your TV or hold a conversation with anyone

I did both of those things. Of course I heard it mentioned, but I just turned over. I don't begrudge anyone stuff they're interested in.

OP, I just don't get people who are such grouches about stuff. You're not interested. Cool. So start a thread about something you ARE interested in.

Like I said, not interested, won't be watching tomorrow, but I'm not going to whine if other people like it.

CadyHeron · 18/05/2018 13:48

Telling people to stop talking about weddings whilst talking about weddings Hmm Grin
Oh and yay, weddings!!! Grin

Amanduh · 18/05/2018 13:48

I’m not a sheep or salivating over it. I will and do enjoy it and all the pomp and circumstance, and fun. I love it actually Grin

CaptainCabinets · 18/05/2018 13:50

At least MN will be quiet tomorrow as you’ll all be busy having lady wanks over the dress. Smile

OP posts:
UrsulaPandress · 18/05/2018 13:50

I have long asked for an irony emoticon.

Twould be perfect for this thread.

RoseWhiteTips · 18/05/2018 13:51

I’m abroad in a gorgeous destination and I will certainly not be watching.

CadyHeron · 18/05/2018 13:52

Bastarding Street parties? Jeezo, you sound a barrel of fun lol.
Maybe wave a flag and scoff cake, might make you crack a smile Grin
How do people get so miserable over happy occasions? Flippin Eck.
