Obsessing over the fucking Royal Wedding?!

P L E A S E

I’m dreading tomorrow. I drive in residential areas to get to my old dears, no doubt I’ll be held up by bastarding street parties and other nonsense.

looking forward to Beatrice and Eugenie turning up!

i'm quite into this wedding now, shame i'm working all day!

NameChanger22 · 18/05/2018 15:23

I don't like the royal family and I don't agree with their existence. I'm bored of all the talk about it. I also don't like weddings.

I might still watch it though, I have nothing to do tomorrow and if I watch it I will be able to join in the conversations at work next week.

BlueJava · 18/05/2018 15:30

CaptainCabinets if you want road closures just look at www.roadworks.org/ I live in Windsor and I think it's fab :)

hmcAsWas · 18/05/2018 15:39

Wall to wall coverage - I had to switch of BBC Breakfast news today. That was a shame because I usually like to check in with jolly Scottish Carol the weather reporter

What also pisses me off is I don't get to hold my views without being challenged by royalists who seem personally affronted

I don't go around saying 'the Royal family is an outdated relic of the feudal system which has no place in a modern liberal democracy' - although that is what I believe, however today I was asked by two colleagues if I will be watching the Royal Wedding. I replied 'no' and offered no further explanation (its too much hassle - from past experience). They couldn't leave it and asked why, and I replied that I am anti-monarchy. You could have cut the silence with a knife, then there were looks exchanged, indignation and protestations such as "they are the only thing that is still good about this country", and you could tell they were appalled - it gets wearisome

hmcAsWas · 18/05/2018 15:39

off

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 18/05/2018 16:00

As anti-royalist as I can be, I agree that there is a very good reason for the media coverage. Not sure why Pippa's wedding was such a national affair, it must have cost the Middleton a fortune in PR.

Even if I don't agree with the whole circus, I can't wait to see the outfits and I think that Meghan has always come across very well.

C8H10N4O2 · 18/05/2018 16:59

I’m abroad in a gorgeous destination and I will certainly not be watching

Does this mean you will stop posting to royal wedding threads 50 times a day to say how much you don't care "one iota" about them whilst having a dig at Markle?

You seem remarkably concerned about an intelligent, educated, working woman enhancing the royal gene pool for someone who cares not one iota.

TSSDNCOP · 18/05/2018 17:11

I’m abroad in a gorgeous destination and I will certainly not be watching.

What a bastarding shame they have wifi.

SusannahL · 18/05/2018 17:21

As this 'too much media interest in the Royal wedding thread' has turned out to be...... all about the wedding I will join in!

I think it's a great shame that the one person I really wanted to get a lot at, isn't going - the father.

I so wanted to see this man who thought a fake phot scam would be a good idea, when the Palace was doing all it could to urge the media to leave him alone! Priceless !

TroysMammy · 18/05/2018 17:27

I've got bigger fish to fry than watch the royal wedding because tomorrow I will be clapping my hands in glee watching my new shed being assembled. I will then be "playing" in my new shed and I'm literally wetting myself about where to put my compost and trowel.

lemonsunshinecake · 18/05/2018 17:28

Lady wanks over the dress GrinGrinGrin

Bagadverts · 18/05/2018 17:31

YABU not to put royal wedding in the title so I could avoid it. Haven't RTFT!

Zeelove · 18/05/2018 17:55

The people complaining are much more annoying than the people who are excited for it

ALongHardWinter · 18/05/2018 18:11

I'll be glad when it's all over. But I suppose before long,we'll be subjected to the 'Is she, isn't she?' pregnancy speculating.

Lilacwine1 · 18/05/2018 18:12

I do like the Royals, but FFS I am bastard bored with it all. Just put television on, and it's all about, what the weather will be like, the dress, interviewing people who have been sitting in a chair since Thur morning, to get the best spot. They'll whizz straight passed, the poor old buggers. And as for inviting members of the public, it's only to make the numbers up, because there's nobody from her side going. I don't feckin care anymore.

humphreysabout · 18/05/2018 18:17

I had to cancel my breaking news notifications on my phone after I got one telling me they'd chosen their wedding cake.

RosaRosaRose · 18/05/2018 18:36

Baaaa!
I'll be watching!
Republican here but I do like to see people having a good time, bit of flag waving!
In my life it's a perfectly good excuse to watch a bit of telly and abandon chores.
Perhaps with Prosecco and snacks. Grin Grin Grin

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 18/05/2018 18:50

No way !

Love love loving it.

hmcAsWas · 18/05/2018 19:41

"The people complaining are much more annoying than the people who are excited for it"

In your opinion Zeelove, the converse is obviously true for me.

catandtheteapot · 18/05/2018 20:02

Bread ‘n’ circuses innit? Keeps the masses happy and entertained. It’s getting annoying now though.

LemonysSnicket · 18/05/2018 20:05

Try being a journalist. We are so sick of it but have to cater to it. Hell on earth, I know everything about it now too.

RoseWhiteTips · 18/05/2018 21:07

Omg. PH met some peasants this evening. What a hero.🤣

RoseWhiteTips · 18/05/2018 21:09

Some odd number-people seem oddly familiar...

Luisa27 · 18/05/2018 21:11

Ahahaha 😂

I love it 🎉

MrsDylanBlue · 18/05/2018 21:11

Oh c’mon DOC I know you have only had 4 weeks to get into your dress but don’t be a sour puss.
