taking off bra at home

lollilollipopps · 14/05/2018 17:02

just going off what ivevread on another thread a few days ago, it seems everyone loves to take off thier bra as soon as they're at home as they find it more comfy?
Am I the only person who doesn't ever feel like taking my bra off? I live underwired and very very lightly padded or just thicker material bras, I'm a 36C and don't need padding to look bigger just to give me more coverage.
I find my head very comfy and hardly ever take it off is it just me?

I'm a 46GG. That fecker needs dismantling at the end of the day Grin

MirandaWest · 14/05/2018 17:08

My bra is a 30D so not too much breast tissue going on there. I don’t find my bra uncomfortable- I’m not sure whether this is to do with having the right size or whether larger breasts are more uncomfortable?

ferrier · 14/05/2018 17:10

You are not alone.
I feel very uncomfortable without my bra, and I've not even got large boobage.
It goes on as soon as I get up and doesn't come off again until bed time.

AlmostAJillSandwich · 14/05/2018 17:10

I'm a 38D/38DD/40C depending on the bra, and i never take mine off either other than to shower or when i'm changing it for a clean one.

It's not about physical comfort, i actually have congenital symmastia so bras are very uncomfortable, its a mental thing that i feel exposed and indecent without one. Probably not helped by the fact i live with my dad, or that i basically live in cami tops but i do usually have a t shirt overthat too, but still, i cant stand the feeling of not having a bra on, i guess its kind of like emotional armour.

PiggeryPorcombe · 14/05/2018 17:11

No I keep mine on until I get into my pyjamas. It’s not uncomfortable and I’d feel too nippley without it in my day clothes Biscuit

mommybear1 · 14/05/2018 17:14

36HH here hate bras cannot wait to whip it off at the end of a work day but always put on a sports bra then still need support Winkbut soooo much more comfortable Grin

Againfaster · 14/05/2018 17:16

my nipples rub and get sore very easily even on tshirt, i don't understand how people can cope without one on apart from in bed?

Merryoldgoat · 14/05/2018 17:16

I’m a 38J and wear a bra most of the time (soft cup to bed) because it’s too uncomfortable otherwise.

Trying to lose weight to get back to my more manageable 34G but it’s hard going 😔

PrimalLass · 14/05/2018 17:18

Not me. I find it v uncomfortable to wear no bra. I'm only a 32d so not even that big.

Cheesymonster · 14/05/2018 17:18

I used to (36E) but I've found a bra that is really comfy so I keep it on until bed. I will add that I bought a few of them!

Mari50 · 14/05/2018 17:20

I wear my bra until I put my jammies on. Unless I have a tight vest on I don’t feel comfy without a bra and I wouldn't go out braless in a tight vest —now that i’m old— I have nipples like top hats and it’s not a good look.

JessieMcJessie · 14/05/2018 17:22

Don’t give my bra a second thought, only take it off when I get undressed for bed. I have fairly medium sized boobs (36C). Some bras have rubbed in the past but I just dump them as I’ll-fitting and stick to ones that fit me well.

Haffiana · 14/05/2018 17:24

I have always suspected that people who take their bras off the minute they get home are simply wearing the wrong size.

I know that this was the case for me - I had years of uncomfortable bras because of the CRIMINAL bra measuring system that they have at M&S. If you have been measured at M&S you are almost certainly wearing completely the wrong size and you bra will be uncomfortable after a couple of hours. You probably think it is because you have strange/small/large/unusual/sensitive breasts. Trust me, it isn't.

When I finally got measured properly (and went down 3 band sizes and up 3 cup sizes) I finally discovered what a joy a properly fitting bra is. I don't feel my bra at all and have no need to even think about it let alone a desire to take it off until bedtime.

thetriangleisarealinstrument · 14/05/2018 17:26

im ridiculously flat chested so only wear a bra outside because people would be able to tell I wasnt wearing a bra from the shape or see my nipples if I didnt... and people dont like that do they! So I dont ever wear a bra in the house (unless ive guests) and take it off when I get in... because to me its just an annoying nuisance.
For some people though it actually gives support and comfort so I guess they may want to leave it on all the time.
Some people even sleep in bras dont they?

catinapatchofsunshine · 14/05/2018 17:28

I'm a 36E. I don't take it off as soon as I get home, but usually when I go upstairs to put the kids to bed I dump it in the wash basket.

It is worse with bras I've accidentally tumble dried as they're often slightly damaged at the back.

It might also be to do with lying/ reclining on the sofa, because when I work a late shift finishing at 9pm I'm unaware of my bra at work and don't notice any discomfort! Maybe people who don't remove them have good posture and sit up straight in the evening!

ferrier · 14/05/2018 17:34

Whereas I measure myself according to the old fashioned M&S method and my bras fit perfectly and comfortably.

We're all different.

Tink2007 · 14/05/2018 17:37

I don’t take my bra off until I go to bed. I feel weird having them flaying about 😂

nakedscientist · 14/05/2018 17:37

i find my head very comfy and hardly ever take it off is it just me

My head often hurts and I wish I could take it off Grin but my bra 34 GG is wonderful and I sleep in a soft one too.
Properly fitted bras I think are the key.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 14/05/2018 17:38

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I need a remeasure but I'm broke so "taking it off when I get home if it feels uncomfy" will have to do.

Likejellytots88 · 14/05/2018 17:38

I only ever take mine off when going for a shower or to bed. I'm a 34DD (or 'huge' if you ask DP!) and have found over the years that only certain styles of bra make me uncomfortable but the good old fashioned t-shirt bra is the winner for me.
I think the only times i'm braless around the house is if I've just got out of the shower and am wearing my big cape dress/top (because I cba getting dressed straight away) but even then I'm usually alone so not bothered about nips showing through!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 14/05/2018 17:40

I have properly fitting bras (I think) but like a PP I get home and lounge and then they become uncomfortable. They’re fine when I’m sitting at a desk.

Mookie81 · 14/05/2018 17:41

I only take my bra off when washing or swimming. I wear it in bed

TentUpFirstBunkUpLater · 14/05/2018 17:42

I am 34FF and it goes on in the morning and off when I go to bed.

There is no way I would feel comfortable without a bra

pigsDOfly · 14/05/2018 17:45

Yes, I often wonder if women who feel the need to whip off their bras as soon as they can are wearing the wrong size. Apparently an awful lot of women do wear the wrong size bra and if some of the measuring I've seen in various shops overs the years is anything to go by I'm not surprised.

Rather like wearing badly fitting shoes I imagine, you'd want to take those off as soon as you got home too.
