taking off bra at home

lollilollipopps · 14/05/2018 17:02

just going off what ivevread on another thread a few days ago, it seems everyone loves to take off thier bra as soon as they're at home as they find it more comfy?
Am I the only person who doesn't ever feel like taking my bra off? I live underwired and very very lightly padded or just thicker material bras, I'm a 36C and don't need padding to look bigger just to give me more coverage.
I find my head very comfy and hardly ever take it off is it just me?

I have one new bra that is unbelievably comfortable, so I don't take that off until I'm going for a bath. But the other, identical one I bought is scratchy and uncomfortable Confused. Most of my others are fine for going out and about but if I'm lolling on the sofa at home I'll wear a comfort bra like a pp showed above.

lovemyboys25 · 14/05/2018 19:36

Only take mine off to put PJ's on
Some are less comfy so I might take off earlier but that's mainly cause I am getting fat & lumpy!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 14/05/2018 19:37

Those who de bra when they get home, what if you need to pop out again or someone calls unexpected? Couldn't think of anything worse than someone catching me "hanging free" Shock

LightDrizzle · 14/05/2018 19:39

I’m with you, I don’t like being bra less. I find it uncomfortable and I swear I can hear those Cooper’s ligaments creaking.
I don’t feel awake and capable until it’s on. The only way I can slop around happily in pyjamas is if I put my bra on too. I’m not massive on staying in pyjamas tbh either, I think it’s overrated Wink

GeekyBlinders · 14/05/2018 19:44

I used to when I was small of boob - since having DS those babies have inflated yet also moved south so I prefer the support. My bras are under wired but I don’t find them especially uncomfortable unless I think about it! Saying that, I do take all of my jewellery etc off the moment I walk in the house and it’s an ordeal to keep even my step counter on my wrist - I couldn’t sleep in it or my bra.

gryffen · 14/05/2018 20:07

Wear mine all day and mine are very good fits (44G) and support.

I'm 6 months pregnant and the fucker is removed around 7pm at night and washed.
(Serious crumb catcher lol)

The best bra in town!

Take mine off as soon as I possibly can when I get home and yes I am wearing the right size I get measured regularly. I am a ridiculous 34j so it is a relief to get the bra off! Shock

MyBreadIsEggy · 14/05/2018 21:24

vitalogy those bras are the best thing ever!!! I even wore those while breastfeeding as I could just whack a boob over the top because they are so soft and stretchy!! (The bra, not the boobs Confused)

MrsJBaptiste · 14/05/2018 21:31

Love whipping my bra off and I'm only a 34B!

The only problem is that with this nice weather, there's always the risk that random children will appear in the garden with the kids so I have to have it pretty close to hand!

Sofiathefirst2346 · 14/05/2018 21:41

32K here and the bra comes off immediately. It’s bloody uncomfortable. Mind you, it’s starting to get uncomfortable without one on now too as my boobs are starting to sag a little. I tend to tuck a tshirt under them to counter boob sweat. Before my boobs started sagging, I rarely wore a bra. I was a manageable 30G then though.

Lavende · 14/05/2018 21:49

I’m so glad I found this thread because I was beginning to think I was the only one who didn’t like being bra-less! I absolutely cannot stand the feeling of my boobs moving around, it knocks me sick 🤢 Admittedly I am rather large breasted and even the slightest movement causes a boob tidal wave. I take mine off when I get ready for bed, replacing it with a soft, non wired crop top style bra to stop them jiggling around.

Puffycat · 14/05/2018 21:53

It’s nice not to feel the restriction of the straps and wire, not so nice to feel yer puppies sitting on yer muffin top😳

Bluelonerose · 14/05/2018 21:54

I'm only an a cup so at home don't bother with my chicken fillets or bra.
If I could fill a bra I imagine ide be happier to where one.

Growingboys · 14/05/2018 21:56

YANBU. I don't understand this at all. I have comfy bras that I can't even feel I am wearing.

Can't fathom my anyone would choose to wear a painful bra in this day and age!

ferrier · 14/05/2018 22:12

Mine are underwired. Without them my boobs hang uncomfortably and swing around and my nipples rub on whatever I'm wearing and get sore.

Those of you with larger boobs who take your bras off - does it really not feel uncomfortable having all that weight pulling down and swinging around?

Ringsender2 · 14/05/2018 22:18

What brand /type of comfy bras would you lot recommend for a 30 gg?

nakedscientist · 14/05/2018 22:28

My 34GGs go in a fantasie Belle, as I posted above, super comfie in black, white or nude.

bananafish81 · 14/05/2018 22:50

The only point of wearing a bra is to give a smooth line under tops, and to prevent nipples from showing. So I only wear a bra if I'm going out (and if just popping to run errands then probably worth bother). Certainly wouldn't wear one just around the house!

I have been properly fitted and know I'm wearing the correct size. I just feel garroted when wearing my actual size (28D). I find a poorly fitting bra much more comfortable!!

Unless I have to wear one, I'm not going to bother. They're small and perky, and a bra can't prevent sagging in any case, no underwent can reverse collagen depletion!

bananafish81 · 14/05/2018 22:55

Those who de bra when they get home, what if you need to pop out again or someone calls unexpected? Couldn't think of anything worse than someone catching me "hanging free"

I only wouldn't go braless at work, otherwise it's no issue going out without one - unless I'm wearing a quite top where you can see my nipples, it's pretty difficult to tell whether I'm wearing a bra or not anyway. So unless they're looking straight at my boobs, they're not really going to know the difference if I'm braless!!

bananafish81 · 14/05/2018 23:02

*On the other hand I’m always amazed at the number of MNers whose day clothes are soooo uncomfortable that they whip on PJs as soon as they walk through the door. (perhaps the same people?)

I don’t understand why they are wearing uncomfortable clothes in the first place?*

Because nothing I wear to work is as comfortable as yoga pants and a sweatshirt!

My work clothes aren't uncomfortable - but why would I want to curl up on the sofa in my shirt and tailored cigarette pants, when I could be in joggers and a comfy slouchy top?

UrgentScurryfunge · 14/05/2018 23:15

I tend to be indifferent. I'm aware that my 32B is probably wrong, but I can't find smaller cups/ bigger backs to experiment with. Either way the main function of my bras is to accentuate that there is something there. Once they're on they tend to stay on. I did live in them constantly when BFing, and they did remarkably well at surviving the double transition from B-F-B within 4 years for two babies.

It's nice to go au naturel after a post-run shower, in a baggy t-shirt. It's a good antidote to a firm sports bra.

MustBeThursday · 14/05/2018 23:23

I'm currently in non-wired nursing bras (to be fair I never went back to underwrites in between the DCs) and as soon as that comes off the sleep bra goes on instead. I hate being braless...

FloofyDoof · 15/05/2018 00:38

When I get home I swap bra for stretchy comfy crop top thing proper clothes for soft trackies or pj bottoms and t-shirt, hair goes up and comfy socks go on. Home is for being comfortable, but my boobs are too big to not be at least slightly contained, or they move about too much and that's uncomfortable too.

Woshambo · 15/05/2018 01:53

I'm 38E. I whip it off as soon as I'm in the door and put on an ah bra or sports bra. Especially for cleaning the house lol
