Seems like she's playing on the fact that you said yes, and then after finding out about the costs for petrol and hotel etc you backed out.

I can't believe the lies she's putting on FB - love the bit about 13k of her hard earned money.. wasn't it a bank loan? No wonder she's got no other friends!! She was being a CF in the first place when she expected you to pay for half the petrol and accommodation. If she can shell out 13k for a cosmetic procedure, surely she can stump up for the transport.

And why did she pay for the whole procedure up front before even having it done? Seems weird to me.

I have read it all, and can't understand why she just can't get a taxi back to the hotel, get someone (anyone) to pick her up, even if she has to pay them. If it means she is going to lose out on 13k?

I think at this stage, considering the amount of money at risk, the only fair thing to do is for you to turn up for the surgery yourself. Get it all done and don't let the money go to waste. Your husband can go with you and get a TAXI back to the hotel. I can't think of another solution if the money is genuinely going to waste.
