Still love Disney, unicorns and rainbows and all that crap. I don’t get it. Aibu

YABU but I think you would know that.

They like them, you don't. It's fine.

Eifla · 20/04/2018 07:44

Good for you. Hmm

Aprilmightbemynewname · 20/04/2018 07:44

Just let it go...

SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 · 20/04/2018 07:45

Ynbu. I don't get it either.

Bananamanfan · 20/04/2018 07:48

I have to agree with you on Disney, I don't know why anyone revels in a love of Disney, its history is not exactly benevolent and they have also promoted some rather rapey heroes.

JaimeLannister · 20/04/2018 07:49

I agree with you. I only find joy in non childish activities such as buying laundry products, ironing and thinking about taxes.

NameChangeBiatch · 20/04/2018 07:49

Yanbu. I would add Snapchat puppy filters as bloody profile pictures and cliched 'inspirational' quote memes :)

You're being unreasonable. You don't have to "get it." People like what they like. Personal taste is just that, personal. I personally have never cared for Disney or unicorns and I find rainbows somewhat garish. Not real rainbows, of course, they're lovely. But I have no problem with other people liking them.

BadLad · 20/04/2018 07:53

I don't get it either, but who gives a shit? I much prefer people who buy DIsney, unicorns and rainbows to tedious bores who try to police other people's harmless fun.

LakieLady · 20/04/2018 07:54

I know a woman like that. Her whole house is like a young girl's bedroom would be if they had unlimited choice when it comes to decor.

I find it slightly disturbing, for some reason.

SoupDragon · 20/04/2018 07:54

There are loads of things I don’t get.

Smoking
People who “need” a glass of wine into evening
People who have a Hollywood wax
People who like shiny white tiled floors.

However, I recognise that it’s just different tastes. Life would be very dull if everyone was the same and liked the same things.

SoupDragon · 20/04/2018 07:55

I’m sure there are things I like or do that others “don’t get”

saison4 · 20/04/2018 07:55

I know a few like that. don't get it either. even my 6 year old things it's odd. but it doesn't bother me. still weird, I agree.

CurbsideProphet · 20/04/2018 07:57

Are you going to provide an approved list of appropriate likes and dislikes? Hmm

Taffeta · 20/04/2018 08:00

I like non girly kiddy things, just like I did when I was a kid

Is that ok?

expatinscotland · 20/04/2018 08:01

I don't get people who are so concerned about other adults' harmless preferences. Get a life. YABU.

flowerslemonade · 20/04/2018 08:04

I've never liked disney.
Rainbows and unicorns, can see the appeal there. Maybe it makes them happy.

YouTheCat · 20/04/2018 08:08

I don't like unicorns and stuff but it does no harm to anyone else.

As an old, female gamer I've been on the receiving end of shitty comments about it being for teenage boys by people who should just fuck off and mind their own business. YABU.

hellokittymania · 20/04/2018 08:09

OMG don't ever come to my house then! My name says it all! My username I mean.

JacquesHammer · 20/04/2018 08:11

What’s to “get”?!

How hard is it to note that some people like some things and others don’t.

It isn’t rocket science.

Fairylea · 20/04/2018 08:11

Why can’t people like whatever they like? It’s not hurting anyone is it?

Tinkobell · 20/04/2018 08:11

Teddies and dollies ? (I'm not talking the odd one either) .....my SIL has a vast collection of stuffed toys which are sea creatures 😫

Tinkobell · 20/04/2018 08:12

Here's another slightly odd one..,,grown women who enjoy dressing as mermaids....mmm.

Nikephorus · 20/04/2018 08:12

I don't understand the desire to spend hours on make-up, anyone's love of clothes shopping, why anyone would waste money on buying cups of coffee when they could take one with them or 1001 other things that don't fit my lifestyle. But I don't feel the need to start threads mocking them. Live and let live. If someone gets pleasure from something without hurting anyone else then great.
And now I may listen to the song from Frozen despite never having seen the film, just because I enjoy it.
