I've just been driving behind a seicento with a tiny back window with TWO of these notices in What is the thinking..."Oh, well having these in my back window will stop people from ramming into me (more likely to if you ask me) OR I know, in order to show how much I love my children I'll limit the rear view vision in my car thus making it far more likely that I'll have a crash with my 'tiny people' in the car. OH PURLEASE....

don't believe you about the montesorri you are having a laugh!! loath them too tacky tasteless . Don't have one. Although my d/d wants pink car seat so no doubt when she see's princess sticker on board. Cannot do it no

rollonsummerholidays · 10/05/2007 18:54

best one i saw years ago when they first came out "when the going gets tough the tough go shopping" I know makes me laugh though.

NoodleStroodle · 10/05/2007 18:55

Sparkly - yours is OK but all the others are CRAP.
Little Princess on board - I think not.

MrMariella · 10/05/2007 18:56

Going at the chavtastic elements on show here....

yes the "Mum's Taxi" are esp. awful..and so wrong..if it was "Mum's Taxi" shouldn't she be comfy on the back seat being driven around???

Surely all such car signs and stickers are naff. It's a bit like the person who shoves their music at you "insisting" you to like it....or in this case share their "sense of humour"..

binker · 10/05/2007 18:56

smug bastards, is what I always think....

MrMariella · 10/05/2007 18:57

Sparkly - only if it isn't on the back of a two-seater sports convertible...

Durdle · 10/05/2007 19:00

Oh my god I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate those things- you might as well put a sign in your back window reading 'sorry driver behind me for my erratic driving but i am spoonfeeding a yoghurt to the child in the back seat whilst searching through the glove compartment for a baby wipe and I am also aware that my massive frizzy hair is blocking your view but it is not my fault'.

noonar · 10/05/2007 19:01

um, i quite like mine, as i think that a nasty bloke in an escort or white van MIGHT be less likely to speed up behind you with his lights on full beam if a baby was on board.

am i being optimistic?

MrMariella · 10/05/2007 19:10

if these sensitive types here get annoyed by them, how would white-van-man be anticipated to react??

I LOATHE them.

To my own great disgust my car sported offensive sunshades for a while - during last year's hot summer they came free with an order from Kiddicare with 'Little People on Board' emblazened upon them. I turned them upside down to try and offset the embarrasment but I don't expect anyone was fooled. But my lovely father in law came to the rescue by carefully taping over the offending message with masking tape, hurrah.

nickytwotimes · 10/05/2007 19:53

i don't like them either. i think they are a bit "showy-offy". ooohhh, look, i'm fertile!

or am i just an old cynic?

puffling · 10/05/2007 19:54

I despise them. However bro in law made us an identical one that says 'diminutive being present.' I like that one.

nickytwotimes · 10/05/2007 19:55

now that i would have!

TheBlonde · 10/05/2007 20:01

I saw a Volvo today with one of those signs, it said "Old Git on board"

fluffyanimal · 11/05/2007 11:24

Oi noonar, my dh drives an escort and he's not nasty!

But he would be more likely to ram someone with a sign than someone without, as they annoy him even more than me.

fluffyanimal · 11/05/2007 11:25

By which I mean, the signs annoy him even more than they annoy me, not that they annoy him more than I annoy him.

Cloudhopper · 11/05/2007 11:33

fruitful - LOL at giving one to your dh - 'little person on board'. No wonder he wasn't thrilled.

They are just a complete lack of understanding of how other people work. They do tell you something about the person driving the car, don't they?

Mind you, not as bad as personalised number plates - as someone famous (name escapes me) once put it: "Guaranteed sign of an arsehole"

MrsTittleMouse · 11/05/2007 16:13

When I was trying to conceive and we were having massive fertility problems I HATED them. We were really luck and now we have a gorgeous DD (6 months) and..... I STILL hate them!
Agree with MissGolightly, they're either patronising to mums or smug smug smug.

hoxtonchick · 11/05/2007 16:16

i saw a grandchild on board sticker the other day. vom.

MrsTittleMouse · 11/05/2007 16:27

Oh God, my Mum has one of the "grandchild" ones. She's promised not to use it when I'm anywhere near. I hope she'll forget about it.
Mind you, all of my (and my Dad's) pleas not to be too smug about my DD are falling on deaf ears. I'm sure that she must be foisting pictures on someone who's TTC without realising, just from the statistics.

ntsmum · 11/05/2007 16:40

Ooh I hate those stickers. My DH & I use 'baby on boarders' as a derogatory term to describe naff parents!!

booge · 11/05/2007 16:50

MorningPaper! How bizarre I was just about to post that I had seen one with "Show Cats on Board". Loopy!

DeviousDaffodil · 11/05/2007 16:53

I saw one today ' Princess twins on board, with child's names'.
I nearly threw up all over the car like that woman on Little Britain.
