Which theories, dismissed by many as conspiracy theories, do you regard as the truth?

Donald Trump is actually Barack Obama in a fat suit and a wig

AugustaLoveday · 18/02/2018 17:29

So others have mentioned Prince Harry already, then...

FizzyGreenWater · 18/02/2018 17:30

I find it utterly easy to believe that a single plane, lost over a massive ocean, could vanish. It would just be a pinprick within it. I actually find it more surprising that that hasn't happened before, that other air disasters have always been located.

It crashed.

Helmetbymidnight · 18/02/2018 17:31

I recently went to a talk by someone researching the phenomena of 'fake news' or as they prefer to call it 'junk news' online. They feel American people are exposed to 1:1 junk news. For every one article that is professionally researched, validated, evidenced, there is one article that is made up by Russians/Macedonian teenagers/racists/thick fucks. They felt it was 4:1 in the UK but going the way of the US.

Thing is people don't seem to care anymore whether something is true or not: Like on this thread, its all 'I feel it's a bit odd/doesn't seem right/' etc.

I feel for his mother Commuterface but I question some of her behaviour. I don't believe he turned up at her door, nor do I think the boy in those awful pictures she was sent looks anything like him. I think she was just so desperate that she believed it was. Same as the guy at her door. I think it probably happened, but I doubt it was really him.

confusednotcom2 · 18/02/2018 17:33

I actually find it weird that Space is so impt & the future travel destination when we still know do little about our oceans.

@Stealthpolarbear, I meant more cover up than conspiracy with Jimmy Saville.
I believe high up people knew exactly what was going on, and either were part of it, or turned a blind eye.

rookiemere · 18/02/2018 17:34

I believe Princess Diana was murdered by MI5.

That thing on the news very recently about the guy who claimed that there was a paedophile ring in government ( I think it was) and he was abused as a DC, then the court case collapsed and people were paid compensation, then he's been found recently with indecent images of children. That sounds deeply suspect to me, and I do wonder if he has been set up as a warning to anyone who ties to speak out. Could be totally wrong though.

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 18/02/2018 17:35

Gosh - weird thread.

Definitely don’t believe Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. Lots of weird stuff about Diana’s death - and 9/11 - but not sure what I believe there.

IntelligentYetIndecisive · 18/02/2018 17:37

Like the latest school shooting, I believe the security services knew more about the 9/11 conspirators before the disaster than they let on.

However, a combination of inertia, incompetence and miscommunication meant they didn't act on it beforehand.

Two planes could have brought down the towers, that bit I do believe.

However, if the FBI and others had 'joined the dots', 9/11 could have been prevented or mitigated.

NewSingleMummy · 18/02/2018 17:38

Book marking for later.

Sandy Hook is truly awful if people believe that tripe.

I like to believe there's something in the Loch.

Never heard of Wills being infertile

HunterofStars · 18/02/2018 17:39

John Lennon assassination
The moon landings
The Annunaki
Atlantis

I love conspiracy theories.

satnc · 18/02/2018 17:39

I really don't think Diana, Princess of Wales was 'bumped off.'
It actually still really bothers me, and I don't know why! I think because she was such a big deal, and because she died in such a horrific and avoidable way, it will always stick with me.

Why didn't she have her seat belt on? Her sister has said on record, that she was religious about putting it on. I've read that her seat belt was faulty and didn't work, but I don't know how true that is.

It annoys me how much it still bothers me!
Poor Diana, and poor William and Harry, what a massive tragedy and waste of wonderful life.

Roussette · 18/02/2018 17:39

I can't begin to imagine what it must be like to lose a child in something like Sandy Hook but then have all the crackpots targeting you because they don't believe it happened

expatinscotland · 18/02/2018 17:39

People honestly believe Sandy Hook didn't happen? WTAF?! How do a fake a child's death?! That's fucking disgusting.

TabbyMack · 18/02/2018 17:40

Could those who don't believe Neil Armstrong walked on the moon explain the radio signals received from there at the time? Who sent those, then? Aliens?

Sorry, but scientific ignorance of this magnitude in C21st Britain is something to be ashamed of, not worthy of bragging about on public threads.

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 18/02/2018 17:40

I most definitely don’t think shootings are fake. That’s due to the USA not getting a grip on gun control.
I remember seeing online that apparently there is one women that was as several of these shooting including, sandy hook, Las Vegas, the Boston marathon bombing, and another event. I’m not entirely sure what to think, although it’s mostlikey a photo shop job in an attempt to get attention.

Andylion · 18/02/2018 17:41

What is the Kamloops thing?

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 18/02/2018 17:42

Oh - and Dr David Kelly was murdered and I’m astounded nothing has been taken further on that front (well not really that surprised but it is awful)

MaisyPops · 18/02/2018 17:42

I do believe that the twin towers were brought down by planes. I'm not entirely convinced the public have been given answers or it's been properly investigated (e.g. what was known by who and when)

ApocalypseNowt · 18/02/2018 17:45

I secretly do not believe Finland exists.

It's my favourite conspiracy and I shall not be convinced otherwise. Grin

FellOutOfBed2wice · 18/02/2018 17:45

I’ve never heard of Prince William being infertile and a quick google proves it to be far from a widely known fact so could the OP of that post shine some more light on the subject please?

I don't believe in the supposed moon landings - the whole thing now appears laughable like a school kid's stunt.

Jesus existed but was definitely not the son of God. God is the creator of the earth and heavens, is eternal and far above such things like breeding.
