Which theories, dismissed by many as conspiracy theories, do you regard as the truth?

I think people who say they are non-believers of any conspiracy are a bit naive.

I don't think anyone has ever said they don't believe there are conspiracies, cover-ups and cock-ups, have they? Why are you suggesting they have?

isthismummy · 19/02/2018 09:06

Well you kind of have Helmut by calling most of the people on this thread morons. It's an interesting thread and people are enjoying it. Why are you get so outraged by the fact others might not think exactly the same as you?

specialsubject · 19/02/2018 09:09

The word for those who think that moon landings were faked and aircraft contrails are poison is ' stupid' . Or unable to assess evidence and reason critically'.

Don't know where naive comes into this.

Can't blame aldrin for his solution to a moon landing was faked person. Thump...

Helmetbymidnight · 19/02/2018 09:10

So you think I'm part of a concerted campaign to stop you from discussing plausible conspiracies?

Who do you think is paying me for it?

Clankboing · 19/02/2018 09:12

I had a bit of an obsession with 911 conspiracy theories at one point. Before I describe what I read / watched, it was a while ago, hence the vagueness. And I am certainly not saying I believe it! So, firstly there is a father whose son was killed by a bomb blast BEFORE the first plane hit - he was walking past the entrance to the world trade centre. He didn't even work there! Some people who work there affirm that a bomb went off in the basement before the first plane hit. Secondly, it is thought that a missile hit the pentagon, probably also the two wtc buildings had missiles or bombs attached. Thirdly, in the situation where the plane hit the field, airforce planes were there in the area before the 'plane' went down. Many people saw this. It was heading for the white house it was thought, so was shot down. Now finally why would this happen? The theories are varied. One is that it was the Israelis who were attacking - this was known about in advance by the US govt. (Indeed there were apparently Israeli students on one of the floors beforehand). There may or may not have been collusion between the Israelis and the US govt. The US govt were planning to use this catastrophe purposely in order to begin the war on terrorism and attack Iraq. Because an aeroplane would not cause enough damage (???I think!) the wtcs were rigged with explosives up the lift shafts - the wtcs had been closed the weekend before 911 for lift maintenance. Hence why they fell on to their own footprint. But what about the phone calls to relatives from people in doomed aeroplanes? Well apparently phone calls from that high altitude would be near impossible and these phone calls were set up. In other words the passengers got off the plane earlier than expected - or never even got on - and forced at gun point to say their farewells. Meanwhile missiles or missiles that looked like aeroplanes were sent to their targets.

Helmet in the nicest possible way I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't think you're stopping us doing anything. I just think you're getting very angry for no real reasonConfused

ShatnersWig · 19/02/2018 09:14

Threads like these make me think trial by jury is a really bad idea.

FancyNewBeesly · 19/02/2018 09:15

The fake Beatles websites are so funny. Thousands of pictures comparing the differences and similarities. I could look at them all day.

I am 100% sure the government does shit every day that would horrify us if we ever found out about it. I think conspiracy theories are a great distraction from the real evils that governments are perpetrating (allowing mass tax avoidance by the richest, targeting the disabled, hundreds of people dying every year from malnutrition, deliberately decimating the NHS). But no, let’s focus on 911. Sure.

I am sure Jill Dando was a hitman though. Her connections to the Yewtree perpetrators and the situation with her husband are more than coincedence. And there’s no way that guy pulled off that murder.

StickThatInYourPipe · 19/02/2018 09:16

So you think those mentioning Sandy Hook conspiracies -whether for or against - are part of a concerted campaign in covering up other "more plausible" conspiracy theories

Well I don’t think Sandy Hook is a conspiracy and the first mention I saw of it on this thread was someone saying that it was not a conspiracy and people should be ashamed for thinking so, I didn’t see any other mentions before that (although if I’m wrong, I apologise)

SleepingStandingUp · 19/02/2018 09:20

Re Harry looking like James Hewitt but now looking like Gramps, maybe the real secret is Phillip is James' real father
(Has no idea of timings or dates of geography) much like the idea that Cliff Richards is Darren Days father

Helmetbymidnight · 19/02/2018 09:21

You are wrong.

beluga425 · 19/02/2018 09:23

I think the Paul McCartney one is hilarious. I can't stand him. Never known exactly why but he just sets my teeth on edge. Hasn't he just had a load of surgery because he's a bit vain?

GrimDamnFanjo · 19/02/2018 09:23

Re Paul McCartney . I reckon a lot of the comparisons will ring true as he is bound to have had some work done over the years...

Helmetbymidnight · 19/02/2018 09:26

I do think conspiracy’s like Sandy Hook and flat earthers get pushed into the limelight on these sort of discussions to deflect that there is some truth in some theories and people don’t want to believe it.

So you do think that - or you don't? Which truth in which theories are we trying to deflect from here?

Google "Prince Philip beard" and that'll put to rest any conspiracies about Harry's paternity!

Helmetbymidnight · 19/02/2018 09:30

Ah, it was the Israelis, of course!! Thank you so much for that coherent, evidence-based exposition. The evil Israelis have long been able to mind-control those poor, helpless Saudis and have always wanted to destroy New York. This is so enjoyable!

Laiste · 19/02/2018 09:34

Back near the beginning of the thread i mentioned the sandy hook video hoax thing being 'odd'. Someone else down thread talked about it again saying the way one parent reacted on camera was odd and it's a recognised reaction to stress. I think someone mentioned sandy hook before me. I'm not sure if anyone on this thread has said it didn't happen but it's a long thread and i could be wrong.

helmet has been a bit OTT throughout this thread. She was deleted earlier and so was my post which quoted her.

Laiste · 19/02/2018 09:35

Cupofcake - I think the Paul McCartney one is hilarious. I can't stand him. Never known exactly why but he just sets my teeth on edge.

Grin agreed.

ImListening · 19/02/2018 09:38

I agree Prince Philip & Harry could be twins. Also I don’t believe Diana would have fooled around until after the ‘spare’ was born. She hadn’t even met Hewitt then.

Clankboing · 19/02/2018 09:38

I am off to look up Paul McCartney now ...

BeyondTerfyCassandra · 19/02/2018 09:44

"Prince Philip & Harry could be twins"

So Harry's dad is in fact Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark? Grin

Helmetbymidnight · 19/02/2018 09:44

Those videos showing the same people being upset (actor) parents at Sandy Hook and another different shooting in America were really odd. The one showing them smiling off shot and suddenly sobbing when the camera turned on them ...

That was the first post to mention Sandy Hook by you Laiste. Nice.

I am very interested in Stickthatinyourpipe's theory that there has been a conspiracy to push SH into the limelight to deflect that there is some truth in some theories and people don’t want to believe it.

I think it's naive to think the royal family won't have done dna testing on both William and Harry to be on the safe side considering both Charles and Diana's dalliances. Not only Diana's because Charles has had his fun too - yet no claims of illegitimate issue? Perhaps he's been very careful, or there's been abortions or cover-ups.

I agree it's also very naive to think there are no cover ups/conspiracies. Yes some are too far fetched and would require complicity from far too many people, but some don't, or involve people happy to stay quiet due to potential repercussions for them.

I remember my gran telling me people were very disbelieving of the Cambridge spies really being spies initially as people were like "they wouldn't have been able to get so high up in intelligence services - SOMEONE would have noticed something amiss" yet we now know it was true.

The mkultra experiments, big tobacco companies concealing the harm of smoking, Tuskegee syphilis study, j Edgar Hoover spying and keeping files on prominent figures for no reason other than he disliked them...

They're not all nonsense
