Which theories, dismissed by many as conspiracy theories, do you regard as the truth?

Surprised that nobody has mentioned that Michael and LaToyah Jackson were the same person.

There was some evidence of this. La Toyah is not in any of the Jackson photos of the kids growing up. She also had the exact same hole on the side of her nose as Michael.

I don't believe they are (were) the same person, but there is some evidence that it's true.

NoMudNoLotus · 19/02/2018 01:26

I believe the Shhhhhh! Conspiracy too.

dustarr73 · 19/02/2018 01:44

I 100% believe Michael Stone did not kill Lin and Megan Russell.

Why? Do you have someone in mind who you think did it?

They think Levi Bellfoeld is responsible.Same MO.

annandale · 19/02/2018 01:46

I don't believe any conspiracy theories, but I wouldn't call security services collusion with terrorism in NI a conspiracy theory, so that lets me off and I can believe in it. I think it was patchy and stop-start though. I would place that with all the activists who were duped into having relationships, sex and having babies with undercover police officers - still one of the most shocking things I have ever read, state sponsored rape over years.

Note that despite not believing in conspiracy theories I have read all of the thread.

DreamyMcDreamy · 19/02/2018 02:00

I love a good conspiracy theory, but how can anyone deny that the earth is round and insist it's flat?! They've got to be on the wind up,nobody is that deluded.
Same with all those on this thread saying that the moon landings were faked. Hmm
Surely you can't deny that we have been to the moon?
As for denying that Sandy Hook and school shootings happened - that's just so sick as there's grieving families out there.

They knew where OBL was the whole time, living 800m from Pakistan's largest military base making agitprop videos from time to time. He was a CIA hire back in the 80's - my aunt and uncle used to train Afghanis back then. Saudi Arabia, Israel and the real Nazi elite were all in on it. The book to read is

Glen Yeadon: The Nazi Hydra in America.

Collusion - now and then.

Leilaniiii · 19/02/2018 02:35

They knew where OBL was the whole time... Saudi Arabia, Israel and the real Nazi elite were all in on it.

I don't believe this. I worked with the Binladen family, who are one of the ruling families in KSA. They hated OBL, he was an outcast.

And seriously, KSA and Israel working together? Are you for real?

user1497863568 · 19/02/2018 02:42

The Saudi ruling elite has always felt that their rule is very shaky without the support of the West. Some of their security ambitions vis-a-vis Iran, Hezbollah etc are also in alignment. So... in a nutshell... yes.

Pretty certain Australia and kangaroos exist - I’m currently sitting on my back patio in NSW watching kangaroos at the bottom of the garden (unless I’m dead and this is a weird Virtual Reality existence).

That’s another conspiracy theory that the kids talk about a lot - we’re actually none of us really alive and we live in a controlled virtual reality where we’re being tested for our reactions to things to help ‘them’ develop a better, more balanced human race.

The Boston Bombings comes up a lot on my uni course - the full report into what happened has been published with pages and pages of redacted information. The total lack of communication between different US govt agencies points massively to conspiracy but really it’s just incompetence and missed opportunities to stop it from happening.

Place marking

huha · 19/02/2018 03:41

9/11 was definitely planned and known about. I don't know by whom or who knew or what specifics.

I believe that the Trump election was fixed.

CobraKai · 19/02/2018 04:38

I think Michael Stone is innocent.

That's not a conspiracy though, just your good old fashioned miscarriage of justice.

e1y1 · 19/02/2018 06:21

I do believe a few and some I don’t.

My belief is that sometimes very bad things must be done/tough decisions must be made for the ”greater good” of humanity.

BanyanTree · 19/02/2018 06:29

That MH370 was shot down or it was a terrorist attack. It was covered up for economic and political reasons. I say this because I was in SE Asia at the time and the news we got was completely different to what was in the media over here. There were witnesses on beaches and oil rigs who reported seeing the plane as a fireball even before it was reported in the news.

castlepark · 19/02/2018 06:36

I don’t believe Peaches Geldof died of an accidental overdose especially not whilst she was looking after her baby alone.

Addicts make awful decisions sometimes.

Hortonlovesahoo · 19/02/2018 06:42

I do think there’s more to a lot of real stories than what we’re told (9/11, Jill dando, Iraq/Afghanistan wars). Not necessarily conspiracies but there’s more information that would not be as beneficial for spin or positive for the governments in question so it’s covered up

CobraKai · 19/02/2018 06:44

Relapsing addicts after a period of abstinence often go back and use the quantity they were using before but their tolerance has reduced so they OD. Very common way for people to die of heroin ODs.

gussyfinknottle · 19/02/2018 06:46

Of course some deluded loon on the internet is more plausible than [insert event] being a series of cock-ups. Because cock-ups never happen in real life and everything is scripted like the movies.

randomthoughts · 19/02/2018 06:50

My favourite conspiracy theory is that Avril Lavine is not the real Avril Lavine. Not sure I believe it but the theory seems plausible!

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/02/2018 06:50

I don’t believe Peaches Geldof died of an accidental overdose especially not whilst she was looking after he baby alone.

Mothers / parents sometimes kill themselves deliberately in just such a situation. Why is it so hard to believe an addict will do it accidentally?

Helmetbymidnight · 19/02/2018 06:57

Posters Either don't understand the difference between conspiracy, cover-up and cock-up - or are choosing not to.

Its a lack of intelligence- I don't love these threads- they're desperate.

About 1/4 of posters don't believe in moon landings (the evidence? "They didn't go back") Grin they think that thousands of scientists/researchers/engineers/the us govt are lying- this is an extraordinary claim made by people who've usually never held down a job in rl but think they're a bit clever.

The combination of social media platforms who won't check content, politicians who lie and manipulate, and thick fuckers who think they're experts because they watched a YouTube doc once, is really, really bad for humanity.

CupOfJoe · 19/02/2018 07:01

The Titanic was an insurance scam gone wrong

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/02/2018 07:02

Margaret Beaufort had the Princes in the Tower killed to give her boy Henry VII a clear run at the throne.

Only it wouldn't have given him a clear run to the throne as there were still at least 3 people with better claims at the time the princes disappeared, and Margaret was under house arrest at the time.

Not sure why people look for a big conspiracy when it's obvious Richard III was the person who'd gain the most by doing away with them. Boy princes don't stay boys forever - their father led troops into battle and became king when he was only 18. Who's to say they might've not got the backing of a foreign power and ultimately done the same?

I have never read the Michael/LaToyah Jackson one before but I am quite old and remember the Jacksons from when I was a child and I remember being surprised when LaToyah arrived on the music scene because it was always a "thing" that there was only one girl in the family and that was Janet. (And a bit odd to have 2 girls and one called Janet and one LaToyah but hey.) But maybe they were trying to copy the Osmonds, who were also a large family of boys with just the one girl?

Anyhoo - Michael Jackson was apparently surprisingly tall - 6'2" or something. People generally thought he was a little feller. How tall is/was LaToyah supposed to be?
