Which theories, dismissed by many as conspiracy theories, do you regard as the truth?

Isn't Christianity the biggest conspiracy theory ever ?

That's religion in general.

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 18/02/2018 19:40

So the guy locked dead in the bag who was officially suicide - reason is someone wanted him dead, but not to be convicted of murder. Very few people had to be involved, so easy to cover up.

Don't you think that a security services who train with a security service you believe could fake something as grand as 9/11 would do a better job of faking a suicide? Do you believe they were just having an off day and thought 'pop him in a hold-all, no one will think that's odd'.

WhoseDeanna · 18/02/2018 19:42

The kangeroos don't exist one Grin this one just makes me laugh, im sure there isn't actually anyone that really beleives it. Makes for an ammusing discussion though!

fallenblossom · 18/02/2018 19:43

I don't mind conspiracy theories at all.. But I loathe anti-vaxers and their bullshit. There is interesting debate, and there is public health menace.

HolyShmoly · 18/02/2018 19:43

Also, unfortunately Knock isn't as much a money spinner as it once was. I've seen houses recently for sale which made a big deal about the use of Knock airport to make an easy commute to West Midlands, there's feck all employment in rural Mayo like most of rural Ireland. Monsignor Horan wanted to make it another Lourdes but it never quite worked out.

If you fancy a pair of smelly rosary beads there's a cracking selection though.

I don't think it was planned, but someone saw something and a mixture of faith and desperation may have increased it. I wonder if the Northern Lights or something had anything to do with it?

Coconutspongexo · 18/02/2018 19:43

If you think Sandy Hook was faked you need to have a long hard look at yourself because I don’t even care if this is offensive there’s something wrong with you. It’s sickening to think people think that was fake and to harass and threaten family members. Disgusting

Also think you’re twisted if you think Lee Rigbys murder was faked.

Iooselipssinkships · 18/02/2018 19:44

Kurt Cobain didn't kill himself.
MK Ultra and mind control. Although this has been proven I think the CIA are still carrying out unethical tests on the mind!

icedtea · 18/02/2018 19:44

The Department of Health is conspiring with pharmaceutical companies to conceal the danger of vaccines such as autism which has been growing at an alarming rate.

Feminism is a communist plot to overthrow the traditional family unit and atomize society.

silentlyscreamingagain Very good point actually. So you think he did kill himself?

MyBrilliantDisguise · 18/02/2018 19:47

Nobody's picked up on this:

I think David Cameron wanted Brexit but stepped down playing good cop so TM could carry it through with him et al guiding her behind the scenes.

So... DC wanted Brexit and then thought the best way to make that happen was to tell the electorate to vote against it?

And TM WANTED to carry through Brexit even though she'd voted Remain... It's not exactly as though she's happy in her role, is it?

And DC is behind the scenes now, guiding TM... No he's not!

This theory is sheer lunacy. Yet another reason why we shouldn't have had a referendum, if people are that stupid.

SilentlyScreamingAgain

Because killing yourself by getting trapped in a bag is so weird that it looks like it can’t be murder. I think because he was a spy he had to die in a strange way so as not to point the finger.

WhiffOfBath · 18/02/2018 19:50

No. DC and Boris J were playing at "Let's pretend we're back at school and in the Debating Society". FFS. And I vote Conservative.

confusednotcom2 · 18/02/2018 19:52

I also thought the coroner ruled he was likely killed unlawfully?

Ffsnothingworks · 18/02/2018 19:53

Apparently, there is a strawberry shortage in Great Britain in the middle of Winter! Get your conspiracy theories around that.

TrustNaeFuckerEver · 18/02/2018 19:54

Sorry TrustNaeFucker I thought you were defending the conspiracy theory and got my back up.

Oh god no.

I've watched pretty much all the conspiracy vids on SH and while I can see why some might latch onto stuff (like Emilie's father) I don't believe for one moment that was a false flag.

JFK and the whole Kennedy family were a disaster waiting to happen (and finally did in the case of Teddy Kennedy). The influence the family had needed to go and having him assassinated was a perfect exit before any scandals became public. Well, in my whacky conspiracy theorist opinion anyway.

Hanging from a tree with a blue face and a swollen tongue poking out would be more "dignified"?

LeSquigh · 18/02/2018 19:57

I’m all for a conspiracy theory or two but there will be no cover up about Grenfell. The Fire Service and associated unions would absolutely, categorically, play no part in any sort of cover up. It may the case that there were people in there that we will never know about but the intensity of that fire would mean there would be nothing to identify some people, especially if not on any official missing list. It is disgraceful to even suggest that there is a cover up here. I know a great number of people involved with this and as a matter of fact, there is no cover up.

TabbyMack · 18/02/2018 19:58

I used to think there was something to the JFK conspiracy theories but then I read Case Closed by Gerald Posner and changed my mind. There are sensible explanations for all the "oddities" & this book lays them out. I'm not saying it'll be that convincing for everyone else, but it's still a good book to read to understand all the issues properly.

Justanotherlurker · 18/02/2018 20:00

Feminism is a communist plot to overthrow the traditional family unit and atomize society.

I don't believe this as such, but do think that there are agitators using 3rd wave feminism as a guise, but this ties into the "muh russians" narrative.

I think i may have not as such an analytical mind as I thought as i get carried away on these type of threads.

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 18/02/2018 20:01

I think that governments and corporations do attempt to cover things up. Tobacco companies were still arguing that their products didn't kill until relatively recently. The first Public Enquiry into Bloody Sunday was a whitewash, as was the Hillsborough one. The Guildford Four and the Birmingham Six, amount others, showed that the justice system isn't very just.

I think that the stand out aspect of all of these cover ups, is that the mainstream media wouldn't leave them alone. They kept pecking and pecking until some kind light was shone on the injustices. Journalists are a pretty obsessive bunch who will keep picking away at things. Many parts of the media are biased but they're not corrupt.

TrustNaeFuckerEver · 18/02/2018 20:02

Thanks Tabby I'll look that one up.

Haven't delved into my JFK theories for a while Grin

Backenette · 18/02/2018 20:05

I think also there’s a need for people to think about likelihood

If you find a dead man in a locked hold-all in a bath, you wouldn’t be unreasonable to think ‘my god! Someone has killed this man and locked him in a bag!’ Nor would you be unreasonable to have a degree of skepticism at a suicide verdict. Killing people and casting sexual aspersions on them is KGB101 straight out of every spy manual on earth. Even the Romans used it as a technique to discredit enemies

For David kelly and some of the other ‘suicide in forest’ scientists deaths well again, it’s not unreasonable to think an individual may not have taken their own life. You’ll never know, you weren’t there, but yes, it’s not an unreasonable thought.

For a full on ‘cast of thousands’ cover up (9/11 an inside job, no moon landings, etc) you’re asking if it’s reasonable to expect hundreds or thousands of people to be involved and to keep schtum. And frankly people are shit at that. So then your likelihood plummets.

crunchymint · 18/02/2018 20:06

Yes the worrying thing is that there are less and less journalists and less and less investigative journalism
