No need to go further into your reasoning if you don't want to but this has always a been curious issue to me and came up today with one of my colleagues. She is a feminist by how she described her beliefs but doesn't actually adopt the term.

I reject any and all "ist" labels. As soon as you adopt one, you proclaim allegiance with a movement. But then factions within that movement claim they're right and everyone else is doing the movement wrong. See the utter disdain between RadFems and LibFems. The current hysteria over someone with a penis using a cubicle next to me is a laughable first world problem.

Except their reasons for rejecting the word feminist is very rarely because they dont believe men and women are equal, its actually quite often to do with not wanting to be associated with feminists like you.
I dont want a woman to dictate to me what I can and cant believe any more than a man, thats feminism

I'm just going to say "hell yeah!" to this too.

esk1mo, I wasn't confining my remarks to 'females'. Anyone - male or female- who really believes that men are superior to women (ie who isn't a feminist) is a fucking moron who should be cast out of civilised society.
