No need to go further into your reasoning if you don't want to but this has always a been curious issue to me and came up today with one of my colleagues. She is a feminist by how she described her beliefs but doesn't actually adopt the term.

Yes

Kitsharrington · 09/02/2018 18:50

And can someone that said no please answer why?

I’m guessing... because they are idiots?

catsofa · 09/02/2018 18:53

Hell yes!

TheDowagerCuntess · 09/02/2018 18:53

Yes.

And I judge women who say they're not, or they're 'equalists' or 'don't believe in isms' or other such uneducated nonsense.

Abracadabraapileofbollocks · 09/02/2018 18:53

Yes

doasIsaynotasIdo · 09/02/2018 18:53

Yes

AssassinatedBeauty · 09/02/2018 18:54

@Kitsharrington I don't think that's going to help change anyone's minds. Apparently many women agree with the basic principles of feminism but for various reasons reject the description of "feminist". Stupidity isn't going to be the reason.

MotherofPearl · 09/02/2018 18:54

Yes. I'm with Seneca, firmly in the Second Wave.

What is a 'Mumsnet feminist'?

JoeyMaynardssolidlump · 09/02/2018 18:54

Yes of course

PenguindreamsofDraco · 09/02/2018 18:54

Yes. Far more now than when I was younger, & naively assumed the battle had long since been won.
Also a 'better' one now. In my early 20s I talked the equality game whilst being very much a man's woman (I'd probably have said girl ) and doing other women down. Now I give no fucks about male approval and cannot imagine not helping other women up the ladder too.

why12345 · 09/02/2018 18:54

EllieMentry · 09/02/2018 18:54

Yes, because I believe in equality.

Yes

surferjet · 09/02/2018 18:55

Yes & no.
I believe in equality, but I don’t want to rip a mans balls off if he holds a door open for me or innocently calls me ‘dear’.

RaspberryBeret34 · 09/02/2018 18:55

YES!

smoochincapuchin · 09/02/2018 18:55

Yes

Kitsharrington · 09/02/2018 18:55

AssassinatedBeauty I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind, merely stating the obvious.

AssassinatedBeauty · 09/02/2018 18:56

My point was that it's going to alienate women further from feminism if you berate them for their stupidity without having any understanding of why they reject the description of feminist.

GhostWriter666 · 09/02/2018 18:56

I believe in equality....for both men and women.

By dictionary definition I would say yes but I see it increasingly being used against men. Eg...there was some programme on the other day and a woman was grabbing a man's groin and bum and it was OK because they were feminists. No this is NOT OK. I have both boys and girls and want them to grow up equal. I don't want my son to be groped as much as I don't want my daughter groped.

So I don't know... do we need any errors word than the word equality...I want to be an equalitist instead.

Helendee · 09/02/2018 18:57

Dowager you can judge me all you like, I don't give a shit lol.

BigChocFrenzy · 09/02/2018 18:57

Yes
I'm a feminist and proud to be a feminist

GhostWriter666 · 09/02/2018 18:57

Any more not any errors
