No need to go further into your reasoning if you don't want to but this has always a been curious issue to me and came up today with one of my colleagues. She is a feminist by how she described her beliefs but doesn't actually adopt the term.

What is the difference between a MN feminist and a feminist in terminology?

I have at times actually derided the movement but the more I look at it the more I identify as one.

I know that the term is still considered dirty in many corners of society but why?

Who knows? MN feminists are not a hive mind and at some point in you have to shrug off other people's opinions and ignore them if you disagree.

Well, on the grounds of wanting equality for DD I suppose I am.
But, (being male) not sure I make a particularly good one.

Plus side: complained about 'glamour' calendar on the factory floor.
Minus side: DW is SAHM and that really suits my life and helps our family.

Not really sure what to think about any trans issues.
