I want a new mug. I like thick mugs for coffee but not tea. I want a mug to make me happy!

Denby & Emma Bridgewater (the massive cocoa ones)

LEMtheoriginal · 02/02/2018 18:28

I have Emma Bridgewater espresso mugs and I absolutely love them (sad innit) but I think I'd find them too thick for tea.

My current tea cups are Sainsbury mugs. They are ok but not a source of joy!

Pictures might help Grin

Not Denby! Denby fall over if they are on the carpet! Le Creuset are thick and not rounded so don't topple.

mumpoints · 02/02/2018 18:31

Oh, I think I read your OP wrong. You DON'T want a thick mug, is that right?

LEMtheoriginal · 02/02/2018 18:33

Yes definitely not wanting a thick mug but then I'm not sure I want thin binr china eitherHmm

I have a Jamie Oliver (don't like him, but do like his mugs) old style mug, fits the bill for me.

I used to have a nice, big mug with 'Twat' on the bottom. Grin

VeryFoolishFay · 02/02/2018 18:43

I have a selection of these; I'm not keen on thick mugs either but these are very pleasing.

That v&b mug is beautiful. I'd like some red ones just like that

ItsAllABitStrangeReally · 02/02/2018 18:44

Out of all of those of say the hungry caterpillar one makes the best brew as it's so thin.

Grumpy old.woman one makes a good comfort brew and holds the heat well. It's also a good size.

The Lionel Richie one is just amazing and makes a good brew to boot. I love them all.

LEMtheoriginal · 02/02/2018 18:45

Omg the grumpy old woman could be the one!!!

I agree the Wrendale, Royal Worcester are perfect for tea! I like the pheasant and robin design. Amazon do them a bit cheaper.

ronniebarkersauntie · 02/02/2018 18:46

I have about 20 different mugs, all handmade / pottery type things, and all a souvenir from holidays or days out. They all have names relating to where they came from eg “the St Ives mug”, “the Manchester mug” or “the Majorca mug” Everyone in the family has their own favourites and I quite like having a variety of different shapes and sizes depending whether you fancy a big comforting cup of tea or a quick coffee before you nip out the door.

I love good mug and these are just the right size and thickness. The photos do not do them justice. The artwork is sublime. Smile
