I want a new mug. I like thick mugs for coffee but not tea. I want a mug to make me happy!

My Sass and Belle mugs are 6 months old and still make me smile in the morning every time I use them!

Eh? How does the thickness of a mug influence the quality of the brew? Genuine question!

UpstartCrow · 02/02/2018 21:08

Mine are bone china from Poundland. I have this bird, cherry blossom, and strawberries.

Tea must be in bone China - so, thin whilst coffee and hot chocolate should be in earthenware. So try Wedgwood fine bone China!

anything bright from Dunoon. I collect random ones from charity shops when I see them. I love the tall shape like www.google.co.uk/search?q=dunoon+mugs+tall&safe=strict&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjflevKlYjZAhVGJcAKHWQjAxgQ_AUICygC&biw=1517&bih=750#imgrc=8wSh4oodfhan7M:

Sadie are you me?! I did this too. I love Whittard mugs and am constantly looking on eBay for them. I had the yellow spotty mug and got rid of it.

Last week I found a Clipper (from Whittard) dinner set in a charity shop for £14! Also found a teapot with 2 mugs there last month for £10. That made me very happy! Love Whittard stuff.

This is my coffee mug - Keith Brymer-Jones.

I broke my favourite tea mug a while back - it was bone China with a picture of a dog on and came From Sainsbury’s. I’ve been looking for a replacement ever since.

I like that @UpstartCrow 😍

Gillian1980 · 03/02/2018 09:44

Most of mine are Emma Bridgewater so too thick for what you’re after.

But I’ve a few Cath Kidston ones by Queens which are thinner - but not too thin!

SadieHH · 03/02/2018 10:37

@TheWelshDragon I had the yellow one too! I still have the matching coasters. What was I thinking getting rid of them?? 😩

LEMtheoriginal · 03/02/2018 12:05

I love my mugs from Anthropologie, tea tastes great out of them and they are heavily reduced in the sales.

Chocolatesprinkledcrumpet · 03/02/2018 12:19

I swear by these ☕

Dunoon bone China are lovely but for my money Pantone are brilliant. Good size, thin but not too thin and literally every colour you can think of. So you can get how ever many you want in varying shades of grey/green/blue/red etc etc. Match your kitchen eg.

The pic is just from eBay but Pantone are th official holders of colour so they have every possible shade going.

The Anthropologie mugs are beautiful!

I love mugs. I have many, a lot from Whittard that I buy on eBay, some Denby. I have lovely big cups for coffee from my coffee machine, they make me happy Smile

Normally I'm faithful to my metallica mug, but having stumbled on this in home bargains and giggling my way around the aisle I had to buy it.....

I have a beautiful set from Rachel Barker which are perfect for tea. www.zenhankook.com/en/html/20_rachel_barker.html

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 05/02/2018 23:42

These are wonderful: huge, very tea-friendly, good to wrap both hands around etc. www.bronte.org.uk/bronte-shop/bronte-quotation-collection/191/bronte-quote-mug-jane-eyre

Whitney168 · 08/02/2018 12:31

I have such a bad mug habit, I want lots of these - especially UpstartCrow's pretty Poundland one. Grin
