I want a new mug. I like thick mugs for coffee but not tea. I want a mug to make me happy!

I love the liberty ones - is there no price because if you have to ask you can't afford it?

Look at Julia Davey's. She puts little pix in the bottoms. They are china. juliadavey.com/collections/mugs

Swedish Grace mug by Rorstrand. It is thin, but not as thin as bone china and comes in lovely colours. It has a delicate pattern on it and quite voluminous (500cc capacity).

I love this one at the moment- it's brilliant for my morning coffee. 99p from Home Bargains. No idea why the stupid picture has gone sideways!

Oh it went back to the right way up!

AveEldon · 02/02/2018 20:11

For a thin mug I would recommend the Moonin ones
Also John Lewis/Waitrose

I don’t like clunky thick mugs.
I bought a set of 6 blue and white beach themed mugs from Waitrose just before Xmas. £4 I think.

FucksakeCuntingFuckingTwats · 02/02/2018 20:20

I like Sainsburys for mugs.

TheRattleBag · 02/02/2018 20:27

On every mug thread I wax lyrical about the Iittala Taika mugs.

They're not bone china but fine enough for tea. Well I think so anyway. I've had a couple of them for over 7 years and they haven't worn at all, and still look brand new.

I'm a little bit in love with them, as you may have noticed Blush

This is my favourite tea mug. Nice and thin. It was a mother's day present years ago.

I have some V&B Naif mugs, they are good for both tea and coffee, I also have a strainer that goes with them. They might not be to your taste but they are good to drink from.

HemanOrSheRa · 02/02/2018 20:41

This is MY mug. No one else must use it Grin.

About 15 years ago I bought a collection of these and similar from the Whittard outlet shop in Portsmouth. A few years ago I chucked them all out and have kicked my own arse ever since. I must have been insane, I adored them! I’m trying to collect them again from eBay but they’re on for more than I originally paid Sad

I also have Cath Kidston mugs, the Peter Pan ones too! They hold a lot of tea which is good.

Waitrose have some lovely china mugs in their regular kitchenware section and they had some special buy ones in recently - a larger store may still have them in. £1.50 each.

FlaviaAlbia · 02/02/2018 20:58

This is my favourite for tea, they do them in house of fraser so you can have a poke at the thickness in person if there's one near you. It's sturdy but not mug thick.
