Drinking in a pub.

I haven’t been out to a pub in years, am going out to one this weekend. Aibu to ask you what you like to order to drink? I need ideas so that I look like I know what I’m doing when I get there.

I drink red wine at home but I don’t want to drink this in a pub.

Well I wouldn't order 17 bottles but why wouldn't you order a red wine?!

No one's actually drunk in a pub since about the mid 90s. Go in and ask for a library book - that's what they're all doing these days.

Or, you could just ask for whatever it is you enjoy drinking when you're not in a pub.

I haven't been to a pub in many years, but remember that the red wine was usually a bit grim. (Unless you are going to a better class of pub than I used to frequent?)

In pubs, I used to drink half pints of cider (the scrumpy sort, as I live in cider country), or sometimes gin with slimline tonic. But each to their own. Have fun

What kind of pub is it? Country pub, wetherspoons style pub, fancy cocktaily sort of pub?

I agree, I drink red wine at home but never in a pub- expensive to buy by the glass and often not nice. If I can’t decide what to drink, I go for a gin and tonic. Works any time of day

If it’s a sunny afternoon I might go for a cider. If I’m driving either half a cider or a lager shandy.

I like red wine, but rarely drink it in public as it stains my teeth! In a pub I will have white wine.

I usually have sparkling water if I don't want wine. Or gin and tonic.

Depends on the type of pub- larger, beer, cider, cocktail, gin and tonic, vodka and orange, vodka lime and lemonade, Malibu and coke, perno and black, cinzano and lemonade, baileys, whisky, Malibu baileys and whiskey.......

The choice of different beers available these days is amazing, and modern 'craft beers' are both delicious and very trendy.

Order a snakebite and black and a jaeger bomb then everyone will think you're a regular pub goer

Well, you need to have at least 3 selfies taken in the loos otherwise no one will believe you're in the pub.

Pub wine is normally over-priced and a bit grim so I wouldn't order a glass of red (also the teeth stain thing)
I'm a wine drinker at home but go for a bottle of lager or a g&t when out at a pub....

Weird but ok. I drink bottles of lager on the odd occasion that I drink now.

Disaranno and coke is nice and inoffensive - tastes just like Dr Pepper.
