Tell me something positive that's happened on Blue Monday!

Blue Monday is meant to be crap for all, so let's inject it with a little positivity!

I'll start: I got lots of compliments for my newly-painted nails (blue of course!)

Who else is joining me?

My first proper shift at new job!! Extra hours already!! Managed to keep a pervy plumber at bay without resorting to Mr Sheen in his fecking eyes!

My 3yo DD has had a stinking cough waking her up at night for hours.
Last night she slept through solidly until 8am!

Then she didn't cry at preschool (week 2...)

All in all I feel like I've won the lottery!

I got really positive feedback from a mock exam paper which has perked me up no end

Ooh I got my nails done today too! I took the day off, and spent some vouchers at Space NK who gave me a bag of goodies as a blue Monday treat! I'm now going to have a lovely glass of red wine by the fire.

I took a load of stuff to the Tip and saw a guy with a car boot of finishing plaster (which I need). Asked if he was throwing it all away and if so, could I be cheeky and have a bag. He said he was, I could and even loaded it into my car boot. It made me happy anyway!

I’ve been successful at a train manager / conductor assessment centre woooooo.

It was sunny for the first time in what feels like weeks. It was so nice outside.

I overcame my anxiety to make a phone call to order something for DS. I avoid calling anyone usually and get DH to do it but in a moment of bravery I picked up the phone and called them.

I've spent it in bed watching tv and eating opal fruits. Lovely.

My DD (8mo) did a 5 hour stretch of sleep last night (that's only happened once before!) AND this morning she napped for 1,5 hours (usual is 30 mins). We've booked a little getaway to the Yorkshire dales before my mat leave ends. Plus I checked the bank acct and we have a lot more in there than I thought we did, we didn't spend as much this Christmas as we thought. So it's been a good day!

Hamilton announced open auditions (OK not relevent to 99.9% of thepopulation but DD is excited )

My dog came back every time I asked him to ❤️

I have nearly finished my assignment and have the rest of the week off before I start placement!

Oh Katy that really is exciting. Very best of luck to your DD - the odds may be long but she’s so talented that she has to be in with a shot.

I used my Karcher window vac for the first time and it is bloody brilliant!

On our afternoon dog walk, my dog met her most favourite dog in the world.

That sent her into an absolute spin and we had a massive play in the park.

This is very unusual as she's quite nervous and very, very rarely "let's herself go" outside of the house. She was exhausted and happy afterwards.

Then on the way home we bumped into about seven of her other friends. While this didn't send her loopy, it did make her happy.

A white dove few onto my outside windowsill (half a metre away through the glass) and we both looked at each other for 5 minutes

I have had an awesome day

My 5 nearly 6 year old with HFA woke up this morning having suddenly grasped the concept of 'Why?' and 'Because...'

He has asked me about a million Why questions today and I'm loving it.

My favourites include :

Why are my eyes brown and Mummy's are blue?
Why is Granny's hair white?
Why is the baby crying, is it because he's hungry?
Why does poo smell?

Sounds trivial but it is huge He's also answered a dozen questions with 'because'

I started my first graduate job, it’s incredible and I already made a friend.

I finished my pre-baby spring clean which means either a) I get to enjoy the rest of my maternity leave in style or b) she can arrive without me panicking!

My toddler (after 10 days painful toilet training) and with a severe speech delay today said the words “mummy I need a wee” so fabulous.
I’m also hard core dieting and have lost half a stone in my first 2 weeks!

I managed to clean out my kitchen food cupboard, my goal for today. My spring cleaning and decluttering project is coming along a treat.

Went for lunch with DH, he's off work this week so hope we can spend some quality time together (rare!).
