Blue Monday is meant to be crap for all, so let's inject it with a little positivity!

I'll start: I got lots of compliments for my newly-painted nails (blue of course!)

Who else is joining me?

OP posts:

DD, age 12, has joined the gym. I joined on Friday and she wants to support me and increase her own stamina, as she is a brown belt in karate. She is very excited and while I want to go every other day, she wants to go every day. She will be up and there by 8.30am tomorrow. Which is fab, as it gives me a bit of a break from her (home educated).

I have stuck to Lisa Riley's Honesty Diet for three full days.

Still sticking to dry January.

BathTangle · 15/01/2018 19:44

My step sister announced that she and her wonderful boyfriend have got engaged - we are all delighted!

KalaLaka · 15/01/2018 19:44

BFP (after a MC)!

TeenagersandFurbabies · 15/01/2018 19:48

Today was my day off and I had a lie in till 7, I get up at 5am usually so it made a nice change. Then DH at work and DDs at school & college so had a lovely few hours by myself.

weegiemum · 15/01/2018 19:54

I'm stuck on the sofa right now with a bad knee.

A lovely friend came round and brought me flowers to cheer me up, that was the best thing about today!

leccybill · 15/01/2018 19:56

I did some overtime at work. I'm skint so it eased my worries a bit.
Now eating a bag of Flumps. All in all a great day 🖒

BlooBagoo · 15/01/2018 20:01

Randomly bumped into an old friend I haven't seen in ages and had a good catch up. Came home and DH had put a bottle of wine in the fridge for tonight, just what I needed.

Eminybob · 15/01/2018 20:02

I have never heard of blue Monday before. Just had to google.

I’ve had an ok-ish day at work (despite it being my first proper working Monday since before Christmas) It was relatively stress free and things went according to plan.

Quotes from kitchen man have come in at less than expected.

I’ve managed to stick to my diet and dry January for a full 2 weeks.

All good!

LikeSilver · 15/01/2018 20:03

Potty training DS had his first day with zero accidents Grin and we made a chocolate honeycomb cheesecake.

DD got a sticker for good work in what sounds (from her description) like some sort of pre-parents evening assessment.

Eminybob · 15/01/2018 20:04

Ah congrats KalaLaka!
Lovely news. Keep your fingers crossed for me for Friday Smile

Eminybob · 15/01/2018 20:07

Ooh I forgot, picked DS up from nursery to reports of how good he has been (has had some issues with his behaviour recently which we have been working on - picking him up is always a fingers crossed hold your breath hope for good news time)

TheMadGardener · 15/01/2018 20:12

I had some new ID photos taken and for once I don't look completely horrible. My DH said in my previous ID photos I looked like a terrifying prison guard. It was fair comment!

MaureenMLove · 15/01/2018 20:14

Well I get paid on 15th, so I haven't had a blue Monday at all! Grin

But more importantly, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in November and I've had some pretty shit days with excruciating pain in my joints. The medication can take up to 3 months today get into my system. Today, for the first time in months, I have almost no pain what so ever! I'm sure it's a fluke and it'll be back with a vengeance but I have been positively skipping around school today!

This has really made my day!

Emmageddon · 15/01/2018 20:15

I got an unconditional job offer for a fabulous new job, starting at the beginning of March. So tomorrow I hand in my notice. Yay!

JeansAndANiceTop · 15/01/2018 20:16

ExDP moves out the other day. I’ve spent the day with DS and I’ve not long since put him to bed. The house is clean. We’re warm and fed. And I’m happy. A massive, massive weight has lifted off my shoulders.
I’m under no illusion that being a single mum will be hard, but right now, I’m happy.

halfwitpicker · 15/01/2018 20:22

I fit into my old jeans.

Boom.

halfwitpicker · 15/01/2018 20:23

Good work, jeans.

You'll be fine.

bringonyourwreckingball · 15/01/2018 20:32

First day since we had our extension done that I didn’t need to spend the whole day shuttling between Ikea and B&Q. So nice just to enjoy having a small amount of time in my lovely house

windowdresser44 · 15/01/2018 21:29

Thanks jeans. Sitting here in my lovely clean, calm home too.

I'm halfway through veganuary Smile

Bambamber · 15/01/2018 21:38

DD said a new word today Grin

KiaOraAura · 15/01/2018 21:43

DH struggles with pretty desperate depression which often renders him unable to do very much. Today he has managed to do a bloody great list of things, big important things that he finds really really tough to do. I couldn't be more happy for him Smile

letsdolunch321 · 15/01/2018 21:49

My weekly shop was only £31.00. I love Aldi

ethelfleda · 15/01/2018 21:57

Had the worst night last night so far with first DS (11weeks old - had 90 mins sleep)
Today I realised I can survive on little sleep. Tonight looks like more of the same but I am calmer about it as I think I can handle it (also got loads of great advice and messages of support from people on AIBU)

BBTHREE76 · 15/01/2018 21:59

Barely coughed all day - chest infection finally seems to be clearing.

BeautyQueenFromMars · 15/01/2018 22:09

I went to see The Greatest Showman this evening. Absolutely brilliant, came out afterwards on a real high. Fabulous acting, music and songs. Properly lifted my spirits.
