To think the no pubes thing is a trend....

My previous career had me seeing people's genitals on a daily basis. Most had full pubic hair. Now I can see (mostly on naked attraction) that fully shaved is the fashion.
But was slightly surprised when a 50 something friend of mine said he prefers shaven as I assumed he would be less 'trendy' like me with my 80s stylefanny
Is it just a personal preference?? In my day at work it was defo rare to see fully shaved. Out of 20 people you'd be lucky if 2 were bald!

The difference is that only me, my sexual partner and maybe a doc/nurse see my pubic area.
In summer or when swimming, everyone sees my legs and armpits. I find it smarter and more comfortable to shave those if they are on view.
Pubic hair serves a purpose of protecting my pubic area- I give it a trim before swimming and keep it clean with regular showers.
Shaving/waxing my pubic hair seems to me more trouble than it's worth. I can't afford to have it done professionally.

OlivesAndWhiskey · 10/01/2018 15:40

I wax! No itching, takes ages to grow back. So smooth!

HonkyWonkWoman · 10/01/2018 15:41

Why are you so upset *LyingWichinTheWardrobe.
As you have just quoted, "I told THEM! " my opinion!

Just because I don't recommend anal sex to my Dgds19 does not make me a bad person.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 10/01/2018 15:42

sunandmoonshine I do it because I find it very pleasurable and it’s a great orgasm. I love the feeling of something inside my ass, and it feels good for quite a while afterwards.

But like you say, everyone’s different. Many enjoy it, many don’t, but at least they’ve tried it in order to have a valid opinion on it.

And I completely agree with you that those are HonkyWonkWoman’s opinions and not those of her grandkids.

shhhfastasleep · 10/01/2018 15:43

Suits you to transpose the opinions of one person onto another. Good luck with doing that, as well.

sunandmoonshine · 10/01/2018 15:49

Thanks @whattodo Smile

HonkyWonkWoman · 10/01/2018 15:53

I'm out of here! To all you who like anal sex! That is entirely your prerogative! It's up to you but not my cup of tea and not something I will be encouraging my Dgds19 to do.

Sashkin · 10/01/2018 15:57

They said "it's only slags do that Dgm and it's gross

When I was a teenager, that was the general opinion on girls who gave blowjobs. Slutty sluts. No girls received blowjobs, because that was far too disgusting to even contemplate. And girls didn’t masturbate (or admit to it anyway) because that was gross too. Female sexuality in general was revolting. Fortunately we all grew up.

I really wouldn’t take the opinions of teenagers seriously on matters of sex. They are still coming to terms with their own sexuality, and are generally pretty judgemental about what other people are and aren’t allowed to do. Most people mellow out as they find a partner and explore their bodies.

shemakesmewaitonabedofnails · 10/01/2018 15:59

Question. For those that remove (I've just started to and like it) - when do you do it? I use cream one evening but the next day it's a bit stubbly. And if I top up shave in a morning by the evening (generally the most relevant time!!) it's stubbly again. Doesn't that defeat the purpose?!

Bimbler · 10/01/2018 16:01

It’s not that many decades since ‘only slutty girls’ had sex outside of marriage.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 10/01/2018 16:02

shemakesmewaitonabedofnails I do it every two days when I have a shower at night. No issues with stubble so can’t help you there I’m afraid.

Bernard46 · 10/01/2018 16:10

" Sluts " and " slags" are the only women who give Bj's, receive oral and shag on the first date doncha know.
Nice Girls don't.

weeps

shhhfastasleep · 10/01/2018 16:11

Bernard - dry your eyes. These are views not widely held these days.

Bernard46 · 10/01/2018 16:12

I hope not shhh...though if 19 year olds are spouting it and having those views endorsed by the older generation, that's depressing!

BuzzKillington · 10/01/2018 16:18

I wouldn't shave in a million years, but I do get the entire thing waxed off.

I started having a 'hollywood' about 8 years ago. It's pretty hard to go back to any hair once you start.

My teenage god daughters and their friends were waxing it all off from when they first got pubic hair - it's definitely the thing to do as far as they're concerned.

shhhfastasleep · 10/01/2018 16:19

The word slag was reportedly used by a 19 year old when discussing anal sex with a poster on here. There is nothing to suggest the poster endorsed the use of this word. The poster does not indulge in anal sex but reported no strong views about those who do.
19 year olds say all kinds of shit and have all kinds of ideas about all kinds of things. There is only so much policing of a conversation you can do while the conversation is taking place.
Just because the poster did not haul the 19 year old over the coals there and then for using that word doesn't mean she endorses the use of it.

mummmy2017 · 10/01/2018 16:19

30 years ago we did this.
Nothing new in this whole wide world.
Just new to you.

shhhfastasleep · 10/01/2018 16:20

My daughter is 10. Do you seriously suggest I tell her to start waxing her pubic hair?

silkpyjamasallday · 10/01/2018 16:22

I'm 23, when I was a teen there was a massive pressure to be totally hairless, pubes or any hair other than on your head and eyebrows and lashes was totally unacceptable. Boys would laugh about girls having 'disgusting hairy minges' and the girls were just as bad at policing it, I got mocked for weeks after someone peeked under my cubicle door when I was 13 and declared to everyone in the changing room that I had 'hair down there'. I went with it and removed it all until I met DP at 19, who said he found weird when grown women have no pubic hair, and I was inclined to agree and I was relived to no longer have to keep up the relentless hair removal. I'd tried a Brazilian leaving a small strip of hair with a previous boyfriend who expressed his displeasure and I found his preference suffocating and unsexy. It was only peer pressure and shame that made me shave, I actually just want to look like an adult woman, not a pornstar or a child or an OAP. I also want my dd to grow up knowing what a normal woman's body looks like, and hopefully not feel the pressure to shave as I did.

fastfrank · 10/01/2018 16:23

Most babies are born without head hair, are shaved headed blokes child like?

I shave all mine off. I like it. My husband likes it. It's not child like, I'm a grown woman with an adult vagina thanks very much.

Italiangreyhound · 10/01/2018 16:24

Brilliant post @silkpyjamasallday

shhhfastasleep · 10/01/2018 16:25

But you can see head hair (or lack of it). You can't see pubes unless you have special access.
And, fwiw, my dd was born with loads of head hair, as was I.

shhhfastasleep · 10/01/2018 16:26

Great post , silk.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 10/01/2018 16:31

Adult women who shave and/or wax still look like adult women; not pornstars, children or OAPs.

And they are also perfectly normal women with perfectly normal bodies.

Bimbler · 10/01/2018 16:34

This sounds a bit like 'I used to do X because ex partner wanted me to and now I do X because my current partner wants me to'
