Happyhappyveggie · 06/01/2018 20:26

I’m 43. I’ve always wanted to done. It’s definite mid life crisis territory.
Aibu to think tacky & tragic or can I get away with it? I’m feeling pretty fuck it ‘you only life once’ in my mid life crisis phase! Grin

I have a nose piercing, they arent "tacky" at all. And the hole will close pretty much to being unnoticeable if you do it and regret, it so no reason not to go for it.

spiritofadventure · 06/01/2018 20:28

You should definitely do it!

Body art has no age limits.

AnnaBay · 06/01/2018 20:28

I'm 44 and wear a very fine, small silver nose ring. I had mine done when I was 17.
I say go for it, if you change your mind later on, take it out. Job done!

LazyDailyMailJournos · 06/01/2018 20:29

Don't be daft - of course you aren't too old! I've got mine done - have had it for many, many years. I'm 38 and I don't give a crap; I like it and that's what matters.

Make sure you go to a proper piercing studio and get it done with a needle rather than Claire's Accessories with a gun!

Happyhappyveggie · 06/01/2018 20:29

@annabay ooh I really want to wear a nose ring too!

chicken75 · 06/01/2018 20:30

Yes do it! I had mine done about 5 years ago. I'm 42 Smile

LazyDailyMailJournos · 06/01/2018 20:30

Anna can I ask where you got your ring from? Day-to-day I wear a tiny sterling silver ball stud on an L-wire. I like wearing a hoop when I go out but have struggled to find something small and fine enough that I like.

stillHereAgain · 06/01/2018 20:30

Of course you are. It isn't body art; it's tacky.

Going to get a tramp stamp too?

frankie001 · 06/01/2018 20:31

I had mine done 2 years ago, and I’m 35. I don’t regret it, and even though I don’t wear one everyday, I love it when I do!

seriouslystumped · 06/01/2018 20:33

Some people can't help but be all judgy-pants about these things. I've just turned 40 and had mine done after wanting it done for years and I love it. Go for it!

StickThatInYourPipe · 06/01/2018 20:34

Do it do it do it! (Imagine this in a very high school-esque chant)

RefuseTheLies · 06/01/2018 20:34

I’m 38 and have my nose pierced (I’m also in the ‘dont give a fuck what any one else thinks’ category).

I had mine done in my mid 20s and I’m mid 40s now. I bloody love my nose stud - usually wear a tiny glittery diamond (not real alas) stud. But if I take it out the hole isn’t noticeable at all.

chicken75 · 06/01/2018 20:41

Oh and I agree with Lazy. Don't get it done with a gun, it will probably scar. I found the needle more painful but no scar. (I have a low pain threshold 😃)
I also have a fine ring through mine.

DavetheCat2001 · 06/01/2018 20:42

I'm almost 45 and have had my nose pierced for 25 years.

I still rock it Grin

specialsubject · 06/01/2018 20:43

Never too old. But if you are white be careful of the stud, most of them look like a spot from any distance.

CoconutGal · 06/01/2018 20:43

Do it! Your body - do what you please with it! I have a nose piercing. LOVE IT!

InteriorLulu · 06/01/2018 20:43

Mines pierced, I'm 47 - had it done 20 years ago. I'd say you're never too old Smile, so don't worry about what others might think. After all it's your body.

I'm currently wearing a small silver ring, which came in a set from Claire's Accessories - whatever you do, dont get it pierced there, they need to do it with a needle rather than a gun. Mine was done at a tattooists.

DavetheCat2001 · 06/01/2018 20:43

I also have a tramp stamp Grin

Happyhappyveggie · 06/01/2018 20:44

I love the fact that so many of you have pierced noses and wear nose rings too! Grin

LazyDailyMailjournos I got my ring from a Nepalese artsy, craftsy shop in a small country town in Australia which has now closed down!
Look in those little independent alternative/ ethnic clothes shops, you may find silver rings in there.

ihatetosay · 06/01/2018 20:45

of course they are tacky and look ridiculous

Happyhappyveggie · 06/01/2018 20:45
