To feel slightly uncomfortable with this?

I have 2 very reluctant clothes shoppers for sons and so end up doing a lot of their clothes shopping online and then they can say yay or nay at home. Today I have been looking at the Jack Wills site, exclusively at the men's clothing - jeans, shirts, etc, and have put some items in the basket. When I looked at the basket it gave me some suggestions of other things I might like. Based on my browsing history, why on earth would it come up with this other than thinking I'm a randy teenage boy?

Also, while the male models are a healthy 32R sort of size model, these girls are clearly underage/underweight.

To feel slightly uncomfortable with this?

Those models are not underage or underweight.

Barmaid101 · 05/01/2018 14:26

They are not underage or underweight!

InsomniacAnonymous · 05/01/2018 14:26

I agree with TabbyMack. I have no idea why you think those models are underage and/or underweight.

teaiseverything · 05/01/2018 14:27

They don't look at all underage. Certainly not underweight either.

MiniCooperLover · 05/01/2018 14:27

If you’ve bought close for young men the cookies have assumed you might have daughters too and are showing you them for that reason. They are teenage girls modelling teenage girl underwear on a site where teenagers buy their clothes? What’s the issue?

ijustwannadance · 05/01/2018 14:27

Not underweight at all. I was that size as a teen. Wish I still was.

Unreasonableunreasonableness · 05/01/2018 14:28

I'm not sure about the suggestions thing. Perhaps they are just some of the most popular things bought. Or if you'd put in any of your details it was reading them not what was in your basket (some sites ask you to sign in before you can start a basket, I don't know about this one.
Admittedly I am looking on a phone so the picture is tiny, but they don't look particularly underage or underweight. Just the usual thin models....

BertrandRussell · 05/01/2018 14:28

They do look very young.....,,,

IJoinedJustToPostThis · 05/01/2018 14:29

I don't know if 'underage' comes into it - they're modelling clothes.

They're slender, dunno about underweight.

Have you ever shopped for underwear online? Or women's clothing in general?

Cookies can be sensitive/persistent. The banner at the top of my screen use currently showing a website I looked at several weeks ago, once, because someone linked to it on here.

LockedOutOfMN · 05/01/2018 14:29

The models don't look underweight or underage to me, but you could email Jack Wills head office, OP, and ask them to consider using different ones.

I may be imagining the powers of the internet here but your browser probably "knows" that your female from the other sites you use / things you post online, etc. so it's coming up with female stuff. Alternatively, this the default setting for the JW site as this is their most popular online sales area?

bettytaghetti · 05/01/2018 14:30

So you think that having shopped for men's clothes I would then want to see young girls in underwear? Hmm

IJoinedJustToPostThis · 05/01/2018 14:30

You're reading way too much into it.

ZaraW · 05/01/2018 14:33

If that's all you have to worry about consider yourself fortunate.

TenancyTroublesAgain · 05/01/2018 14:35

Neither underage or underweight..

supersop60 · 05/01/2018 14:39

They do look young and skinny. Normal early teenage.

WeAreGerbil · 05/01/2018 14:40

I think YANBU about the suggestions, it does seem weird. It doesn't really show a range of body types either, which is crap, though my DD is fairly skinny and the boys tease her for having no breasts, I don't think girls can win.

YABU for having nothing else to worry about, I'm sure this is your only concern in the world Hmm

aishana · 05/01/2018 14:40

Not seeing the problem here.

I've just bought a jack wills mini skirt from the website and I'm definitely no teenager.

I just liked it.

Christmascardqueen · 05/01/2018 14:43

They appear to be as suggested young teens. Underage if you expect over 18 only models.
Weight...photoshop...taking photos from a lower angle...difficult to say.

BitOutOfPractice · 05/01/2018 14:44

They look like teenage women, modelling clothes teenagers would like, on a site teenagers use. They look like my 17yo DD in terms of their weight and the sort of stuff she'd like to wear

You know your teen DSs can access stuff rather more graphic than that at the click of a mouse don't you?

RebeccaWrongDaily · 05/01/2018 14:48

maybe it's usually boys buying their own clothes on Jack Wills (not their mums?) and after buying some teeshirts and slacks they usually go and look at girls in underwear?

Girls who are not underage or underweight in anyway?

JanetStWalker · 05/01/2018 14:49

They look about 15 to me, so yes under age.

ConciseandNice · 05/01/2018 14:52

They look like healthy weight teenagers to me. They are modelling clothes for teens, who should they get? Underage for what? It’s not a porn site!!! Good grief!

RavingRoo · 05/01/2018 14:52

The Jack Willis site probably uses cookies and knows you’re a woman (and your age) from your search history. It’s likely to have picked up a recent search from you.
