AIBU to smash up his camcorder

My DH gave me a fake lottery scratch card and videoed me secretly whilst I jumped around thinking that I had won 50 grand.

Whilst I'm not usually that gullible, It did not occur to me that he would do something so totally disrespectful to his own wife.

This really upset me when he took great joy in showing the footage to my grown up children and laughing out loud at me.

AIU to be so upset and smash his camcorder into tiny bits. He doesn't know yet what I've done!!

I think some people may tell you to lighten up but that would upset me too. Could you get your own back? Maybe film him while telling him you're pregnant? Or some other unplanned event he may not be open to?

What a really weird husband.

Do what you like with the camcorder. Burn it and toast marshmallows off it. It's the clown you're stuck with that's the problem. I hope your kids didn't laugh or at least if they did, they hugged you afterwards and admitted their dad's got a humiliating way of poking fun at his wife.
That's not normal or cool or funny. It's just a bit shit really.

What a berk, I hate those sort of pranks. I would have done something to the camcorder, but probably not actially smashing it, maybe getting it wet so he would get know you had deliberately done it.

I wouldn't smash up a camcorder but neither would I be speaking to him, doing anything for him or even acknowledging that he existed.

My ex (as of last night) once pranked me into thinking he'd bought me a car. Felt like a total fool.
