HAPPY NEW YEAR MNers.
I commented on a post the other day about what everyone was upto and loved it. Felt it was a nice post.

So... what have you all been up to on this New Year's Day?

We've had a very chilled day, pjs and duvets on the sofa, me reading, DD1 watching a Netflix show and DD2 switching between Barbies, arts and crafts and reading her new stories. We've nibbled and snacked all day and we've gone through plenty of hot chocolate. It's just what we've needed after an absolute rubbish few days. Ones now in bed the others showering and choosing another new set of pjs 😂 I'm sure tomorrow will be about the same x

Watched family films snuggled on sofa, DH napped as he is a cabby and worked the NYE shift, I made steak pie for lunch and then DH and DS have watched football this afternoon, whilst I read, DS now asleep and we are eating cheese and biscuits, drinking prosecco and Just chilling...it’s been lovely 😊

We took down the decs and cleaned up. Then had a snacky lunch and watched Collateral Beauty.

Two teen boys laid in their rooms nursing hangovers from their respective parties and rolling into bed around 4am lol

Now watching bake off and thinking about bed

Feck all. DH didn’t get up til four, DD went to GPs for lunch and got home about half four.

It’s been very quiet.

The cat came up and I thought she'd snuggle with me comfortingly but she fixed me with a look of despair and slunk out.

DP brought me a bacon sandwich when I could face it at 3pm.

He was quite happy as it meant a whole day of alternating between the football,and a PlayStation game where he pretends to be in the war.

Chilled morning with croissants for breakfast. Dp and I went for a scenic wander and then I made a roast.

We lay in til 10ish (mil had ds overnight), got up and straightened up the house. Had a fry up, then a couple of visitors popping in (first footing) then dh went to collect ds once he knew he was fit to drive. Now I've had a hot chocolate, going to take off my make up and go to bed

Woke up at 11 this morning unsure what year I was in, then went on a long dog walk with some friends, had coffee in the park cafe, food shopping, judge Judy on tv and have just cleaned out my bedside cabinet.

I worked til 1.30am and went back in for 8am, such is hospitality life at New Year's! Ideally I would've eaten chocolate and watched The Sound of Music though.

Oh and we had lovely steak pie, mash and veg for dinner

Family over for lovely beef wellington cooked by dh then an afternoon playing games and watching tv with ds(12) and dd(8) - lovely family day

We all had a lie in after a fab night last night.

Got ready to take dd to a skate park with her new skateboard. Got there. Got out the car and the weather was that bloody bitter, we promptly got back into the car and went to a cosy pub for an early tea.

Dd back in school tomorrow, so it was a nice way to end the festivities.

Went for a morning walk with my 4mo DS and then had a lovely chilled out pj/netflix day. Finishing off the last of the buffet food currently and then the diet WILL start tomorrow

I got up at 4, went downstairs to watch a film with DD and fell asleep.

Have now had a bath and watching tv.

Nice sunny walk in the woods with DDog after weeks of rain. Back to mince pies, mugs of tea and football on the radio while taking down the tree and decorations.

Great thread. We did a walk as a family and then I did my first RED January run
We had a roast then played board games.

Went for a lovely long walk with DH and a couple of friends
Watched the New Years Swim , didn’t take part obviously
Home by about 3-30
Lit fire and flopped around for the rest of the day

Slightly different to most of you I suspect!
Hired a zipvan and drove to pick up a spare wardrobe from my DDs house.
Went into central London with my friend to watch some of the New Year's Day parade. DS has gone to work.
Came back, watched Willy Wonka, cooked myself dinner and am now watching Festive Bake Off

Tidied up from last night's (gentle) party, exercised the dishwasher & washing machine a few times, tried to read a bit between cycles. And scoffed ridiculous amounts of leftovers & Dominos with the kids.

Morning tidied round, did a wash and played Lego with ds(4). Lunch time did the weekly food shop, came back put it away. Went and picked dd(15) up from her dad's, 2hr round trip. Made tea, cleared up, slobbed on bed watching midsomer murders while dd gave ds a bath. Put ds to bed. Now im going to sort out my car tax.

Slept until 11. Bowl of cereal then the gym. Came home had a shower and then drove over to meet my mate for a coffee. Came home and had a lovely New Years meal with DH and DSDs. Took the dog out then retired to watch the soaps in bed with half a chocolate orange 😂

Ditto on sitting on the sofa all day hoovering up the last of christmas chocolates while ds played with his presents.

I have nearly finished the entire series of Feud on bbc iplayer today and it is honestly one of the best series I have watched recently.

Yard first thing, then dog walk, then back to yard where a friend visited to see if she wants to move here. I confess I had a nana nap just now. Back to work tomorrow. :(

Lie in, pottering. fixed my bike, made the cushions that were going to be made before Christmas, all the laundry that didn't happen when we had a housefull of family. Spent the brief hour of good weather in the garden then cuddled up on the sofa with dd (who has been colouring and watching cbbc and films) and watched loads of telly. Decided the diet starts when I've finished the stilton. Back to work in the morning.

I've commented on the other thread too but hey, I've had a lovely day. It's my birthday so got a huge lie in, lots of bizarre presents chosen by the kids, afternoon of bepyjama'd board games then out for a meal with my family. I had a 'surprise' cake and got sung to at the restaurant which was hideous but happy.
Honestly - I can't stop smiling, it's usually such a shit day for me.
Here's to 2018 being great for everyone hopefully
