HAPPY NEW YEAR MNers.
I commented on a post the other day about what everyone was upto and loved it. Felt it was a nice post.

So... what have you all been up to on this New Year's Day?

We've had a very chilled day, pjs and duvets on the sofa, me reading, DD1 watching a Netflix show and DD2 switching between Barbies, arts and crafts and reading her new stories. We've nibbled and snacked all day and we've gone through plenty of hot chocolate. It's just what we've needed after an absolute rubbish few days. Ones now in bed the others showering and choosing another new set of pjs 😂 I'm sure tomorrow will be about the same x

Went for a walk in the woods this morning, board games this pm then had dinner (steak and chips) and watched some tv. Just getting ready for bed, back to work tomorrow 😢

Stayed at a friend's last night after their NYE party. Am at home now, drinking tea and watching sci-fi. Bliss ☺

Got up at 8 , fed horses in my pyjamas and threw hay over their doors as they were refusing to get out of bed ( it was raining) . Went back indoors for breakfast , then went out , sorted the animals out , christened my new yard boots getting them absolutely filthy whilst extracting the tractor from a sea of mud , then went indoors , and spent the afternoon in the kitchen chopping vegetables whilst watching 3 episodes of Midsomer Murders . Made soup , caramelised onion marmalade and steak and ale pie , and DD1 made chocolate fudge cake . Very nice .

Made a roast dinner for my mum and dad

Dropped dds off to watch jumanji and have a meal with their favourite aunt who usually lives abroad but it home for Xmas / New Years

Napped with ds -1 -and played with him

Nothing really. Me & OH out last night, still in recovery mode. I did roll out of bed earlier to heat up dinner. DCs came in silly o clock this morning, emerged only to eat dinner,I expect them to incubate until tomorrow. OH still upstairs. I'm on sofa now with a box of snack mix .Very quiet and peaceful. I love days like this.

Sat on my arse in pyjamas all day. I cooked a roast chicken with chest sides (frozen roast pots, pre-cooked mash etc )

DS also still in dressing gown and been on PS4 all day.

Washed the pots. Opened wine.

Still on sofa.

Work tomorrow

Tidied up from yesterday (had sister's family around).
Brought mum to lunch, went out for coffee.
Confirmed I don't have to work tomorrow.
Spent productive rest of the afternoon on MN.
Now cuddling DS who had a headache and watching TBBT.

Full English to soak up last night’s booze...walk with friends/dogs then up to friends this aft to finish the Christmas food. Feeling fat and tired 💤

Not a lot. Pottered, cooked, went to the supermarket. DH took DS swmming because I am recovering from flu. Made some clay models with DS. Am about to have a bath.

Oh what an exciting life I lead!

Lay in till about 10.30. Then got up and started prepping dinner - made a lovely fish pie, roast parsnips, Vichy style carrots and broccoli and cauliflower cheese. DP’s parents and grandma (92 bless her) arrived about 1, we had dinner, followed by last of the Christmas cake, cheese and biscuits and then slumped in front of the telly with lots of cups of tea and chocolates. They left about 7.30 and DP has just been watching Worlds Strongest Man whilst I read/fanny about online and generally feel sleepy, stuffed and vaguely sick!

It’s been a lovely day to be honest, I was feeling really weepy the last couple of days (hormones) and sad that Christmas was over, but today was like a slightly more chilled version of Christmas Day and now I feel like I’ve definitely had my fill (literally).

I had a good night's sleep using my new igel side sleeper pillow (matching mattress will be 3 weeks for delivery)

I then did a bit of housework. Fed the menagerie of animals and crocheted some of my blanket.

woke at 9.30, had a fry up with family and went into town to do some returns. Did a very quick grocery shop, had McDonald's with kids, vacuumed while house and cleaned kitchen and cooker.
brother and sis in law came over, after they went watched football, kids went to in laws and then I had a shower, put on a Japanese movie with subtitles and had some left over party food. kids now in bed and I'm half watching titanic and mnetting.

Today was my first day at home since morn of Dec 23rd, after a cooked breakfast I cleaned fridge, put on two washes, did online grocery shop, made lunch, unloaded car from time away, did my first RED January run @Timpani came home made dinner, mumsnetting now ds4 has chicken pox & is sleeping on top of me & dd7 is watching tv & colouring and I'm drinking a glass of vino, dh is in bed as he's working later

Gave ds a bath too and applied calamine lotion liberally

I did a load of washing (oh no, it's new year's day, I'm doooomed!!) and spun it (dh put it to dry). I made a photo calendar for 2018. I have sat on the settee and eaten celebrations. I have made a pot of tea. I have done pretty much nothing else.

cleared out kitchen cupboards - yuk - , did recycling, visited mum, took down tree and decorations and then put them in the attic, read some of new Peter James thriller (scary), made soup, baked a cake, had a bath, cooked dinner, did the finances. Am now knackered.

Everyone sounds like they've had a lovely day! I was planning on going for a walk like most of you, I even got dressed first thing, went out the door to throw rubbish away, felt the cold and hastily back in. Luckily the DCs both said they didn't fancy it either. Both are with their dads tomorrow afternoon for a couple of hours so I'm planning on a walk into local centre, a nice peaceful tea and cake and carry on reading. DCs don't go back til Monday so it may just be a few more days of relaxing x

I've been in bed with DP since 9pm NYE as we've got a rotten flu bug. It just won't go 😐

Lazy morning, kids played with their teddies, then went swimming then early tea at Prezzo. Came home and watched maleficent and grandpa's great escape.

I've nursed a hangover for most of the day, had a nap and watched shite on TV.

We ate last night's (huge) takeaway leftovers and binge watched Detectorists.

I did a pile of paperwork, some cleaning and then signed up for an OU course starting in March (BSc Combined STEM). I don't know why, I just felt the need to do something so I have!

Now I've got 3 months to make time and get ready for the course. Or persuade myself that I'm too stupid, one of the two!

DP and I went for an 11km walk. It was through beautiful countryside and really blew the cobwebs away.

We came home and DP did some washing whilst I took the tree and decorations down.

I made a bolognese and we’ re now watching a film. Last day off tomorrow then it’s back to the grind.

It’s been a great Christmas and new year!

Up early to enjoy the dawn and watch the sun rise over the sea. Mowed lawns, picked ripe tomatoes, watered plants. Perused the online sales, as too hot to be outside after 10 a.m. Barbie with steak and sausages in evening. Watched some mindless action movie of DH's choice. 95% bliss.

I have been in bed for most of today with a stinking head cold. Luckily DH has been around to look after our two DS. And a fine job he's done of it while I slept! Hoping to wake up feeling considerably better tomorrow as we have dear friends coming for the day who we don't get to see very often.
