To think the fireworks go on too long?

When I was a kid you'd watch Big Ben chime 12 then it would be everyone singing auld lang syne and a big group hug. Now the bloody fireworks go on for like 15 minutes (gets boring after a while) and only then auld lang syne. It's just not the same!

Yes too fucking long! My dog is is fretting my 6 year is now awake as they have woke her up.

I actually thought they were so OTT they got a bit boring. My husband thought they were great though.

My DH had just said it is obscene the amount of money spent on that display in times of austerity. I agree with him.

Fireworks always make me feel sick - all that money going up in smoke when there's so much poverty in the world. Criminal.

It's the F.U.E.U. firework party. Aka, you think we haven't any money because of Brexit but we have, so F. U.

I love them & would happily watch them all night! The people coming in to London to watch put more than enough money into our economy to cover the cost of the fireworks

I like the fireworks from London but hate the fucking awful music they burst our eardrums with each year. There is so much beautiful music out there yet we're subjected to some shitty cacophony year upon year.

They were beautiful but the accompanying music was a bit blah.

Fucking bastarding fireworks, my dog is generally OK with them but the ones going off 2 doors away have thrown her into a right panic. She's currently welded to my side shaking and panting so hard she sounds like she's going to have a heart attack.

I'm not usually a miserable twat but I wish they would restrict the damn things to commercial displays only. And for a max of 5 mins duration in total.

I know I'm unreasonable but I hate seeing her extreme distress.

They’ve been going since 10 here and are just stopping now. It’s been nice to watch from the window but I’m wanting to go to bed now and wish they’d stop.

I loved the fireworks. The music was shit though.

Fireworks locally have been going off since 10pm. Woke my 18 month old so she's been up for the past hour and a half. Just managed to settle her so fingers crossed. They are still going full steam now though. I know I'm being miserable but why?!? So noisy and I feel like they are so overdone - I think it's a bit boring as the more that go off the less special it seems. It's half 12 now so I hope it stops!!!!

Yeah, I thought including Ariana Grande was really thoughtful.
