children in need really pisses me off

I know I am being unreasonable but I really do dislike it and can't quite articulate why.
Prefer to choose my charities rather than have it thrust down my throat I suppose.
Anyone else?

If only there was the option of not watching it/donating.... oh wait

I’m a bit fed up with it as well. It is a worthy cause but the programme is utter crap. I think they would be better making it every two years.

I agree...but then I'm bloody difficult and if someone tells me to do something i can't resist the urge to do the exact opposite

I hate it too mostly because all the people who give up their time to ask me to hand over my cash earn more than I ever will!

Nobody has to watch CIN. Nobody has to donate. I’m pleased the BBC raise money for worthy causes and allow people the chance to donate - if they want to.

I spent £10 in a charity shop which supports children instead, also dcs took money to school. Dd wants to watch it though.

I don't like the merchandising if it, it seems to me people are more interested in being seen as charitable than actually "giving what they can"

Totally agree. Absolute drivel. Rich people on the TV asking poor people to give money. The show is dire.

Where does the money donated go? All I see every day are reports of abused, injured and often murdered children. And no resources for SS and child mental health services and counselling stretched to the limit and all the rest of it.

Sorry folks. I know the intentions are good. But millions are raised every year. I know that amount will not solve the problems of our health services, but I still get a spidey feeling somewhere in my gut.

I would never watch the TV programme but I do donate and my children have actually benefited from a project funded by it at a very dire time in our lives. So to me it isn't just 'that thing' - it's a real, tangible life improver.

I don't watch it as I hate it. It may be a good cause but it is terrible TV. I'd pay more not to watch it!

Even if you don't watch it it's still forced down your throat.
We've had it at school, on the radio, people asking for donations at the shops, in the street, mates asking for fundraising.

I'm dubious as to what the BBC do with the money tbh. I'd much rather (and do) donate directly to the small, local charity I support.

To a lot of fantastic charities. At least one that helps ds couldn’t do what it does without funding they have had from CIN

Charities can do amazing things but they can’t always plug the gaps in nhs/social care services.

It mainly pisses me off because it means no eastenders on the night!
