To not want bizarre stringy tit anchors on my bras?

I went bra shopping this morning - annoying enough at the best of times but manufacturers seem to have developed some kind of obsession with adding weird stringy bits across the tops of the cups and between the straps. At least on anything that isn't 'basic' or a flesh coloured minimiser designed to make you feel as dowdy as possible.

I suit V necklines best, so I like plunge and balconette bras - adding a weird pointless web of extra metal hoops and strings just means you can only wear the bloody things under a turtleneck Angry

I am afraid I just don't know what you mean. Photo or link please?

honeysucklejasmine · 12/11/2017 16:44

No idea what you're on about.

ZepellinBend · 12/11/2017 16:46

I know exactly what you are talking about. Lots of women wear them so the stringy bits are visible either under a low cut or sheer top.

WhoWants2Know · 12/11/2017 16:48

Is this like when girls were wearing low slung jeans with decorative thong straps on show?

jaseyraex · 12/11/2017 16:48

Ha. Know exactly what you mean, and I've actually bought one Blush. It really looked quite sexy in the picture, definitely didn't look that way when I put it on!

OydNeverDeclinesGin · 12/11/2017 16:49

This is driving me up the wall too. I just want nice, attractive, comfy bras for day to day wear. It seems all there is at the moment are sexy bras or frumpy flesh coloured monstrosities.

BrutusMcDogface · 12/11/2017 16:50

Also no idea what you're talking about! Could google, but not sure what "weird stringy bras" would bring up!

TheQueenOfWands · 12/11/2017 16:51

I know what you mean.

They look like seat belts for tits.

kali110 · 12/11/2017 16:51

I loke them.

They’re called harness bras. However it’s a catch all term so I advise caution for google purposes.

Quite a few of the ones I’ve seen have removable harnesses though, which suits most people.

IhaveapenIhavepineapple · 12/11/2017 17:00

YANBU, they're everywhere.

allegretto · 12/11/2017 17:02

While we're on the subject - how are you meant to wear this? Is the part at the top meant to show? I feel old. There are so many clothes around I don't know how to wear!

Can you post a link to one?

AuntieStella · 12/11/2017 17:03

I think 'stringy tit anchor' is a brilliant term for it, and I know exactly what you mean. I bought one, thinking it just looked like interesting embellishment, and didn't realise quite how much it would show.

(As it was from ASDA, it was cheap enough not to matter that it can only be worn with some things).

Noimbrianfromhull · 12/11/2017 17:03

I bought a couple of bras this year which had interesting backs but when I got them home realised you have to put them on over your head before doing up the back clasps.

Which is annoying, not attractive when you're trying to get them off in an intimate moment and make you feel like you're wearing a back brace.

Crap.

RebeccaBunch · 12/11/2017 17:07

"Bondage bras" Hmm

ToadTheVampireThreadKiller · 12/11/2017 17:10

If I could find a comfortable bra that wasn't moulded with sweat inducing foam padding and it had those tatty stringy bits on I would happily cut them off.

becotide · 12/11/2017 17:10

I know exactly whatyou mean - I just cut them off

DJBaggySmalls · 12/11/2017 17:14

I blame 50 shades personally.

CaptainBrickbeard · 12/11/2017 17:15

I have the bra in this picture (it isn't me in the photo though, sadly) and I love it! You aren't meant to wear th under turtlenecks, they are supposed to be on display Smile.

stringy tit anchor is a superbly apt description

ChaChaChaCh4nges · 12/11/2017 17:16

I love them, I have to say. Sexy and comfortable, at least for me. Maybe I have weird shaped tits.

HeebieJeebies456 · 12/11/2017 17:16

Primark has some gorgeous bra sets that don't have tit-anchors Grin
