Love them more than chips.

twinone · 03/11/2017 21:48

Bloody lovely!
Haven't had them for years.

NegansBitch · 03/11/2017 21:49

our local chippie doesn't do scraps....so we drive to the next village to get them and oh god are they tasty!!! In fact, we just had fish, chips, scraps and salt/vinegar tonight x mmm x (not bragging, just reminiscing lol)

Ollivander84 · 03/11/2017 21:49

There's a chip shop in my town that's open mega late. So after the clubs kick out, you can go and get chips. And they do scraps 🙌🙌🙌

Paperclipmover · 03/11/2017 21:50

What are scraps?

ssd · 03/11/2017 21:50

SerendipityFelix · 03/11/2017 21:53

Eh? Scraps of what?

FannyWisdom · 03/11/2017 21:54

Are you marooned down south?

Ttbb · 03/11/2017 21:54

What are 'scraps'?

SadTrombone · 03/11/2017 21:55

@Paperclipmover we call it "batter" where I am - it's basically just the scraps of batter that come off the fish etc as they're being cooked.
Some places will offer to put it in woth yoir chips/ fish or even give you a paper bag of the stuff.

@SSD - maybe try asking when you're next in? Couldn't hurt!

Readermumof3 · 03/11/2017 21:55

I’m a Fifer but I got scraps at my pals local chippie in Yorkshire. Wee fried bits of batter if I recall correctly.

I didn’t have them twice 😷

Lj8893 · 03/11/2017 21:55

What are scraps? I live in deepest darkest Dorset.

chocolatespiders · 03/11/2017 21:55

Tiny bits of broken off batter! Lush

ssd · 03/11/2017 21:55

its those bits of batter that come off the fish frying in a chippie

I used to play st scraps when I was small but I don't know what they'd be called

@Paperclipmover @SerendipityFelix I’ve just googled and it says it’s leftover batter that’s been fried up Confused eww.

DandySeaLioness · 03/11/2017 21:56

massive cross post Blush

NannyR · 03/11/2017 21:56

Scraps are the little bits of deep fried batter that fall off the fish as it's cooking. You can ask for a bag with your fish and chips. They're delicious!

mailfuckoff · 03/11/2017 21:56

I get scraps in bucks, it's not all posh round here

FannyWisdom · 03/11/2017 21:56

If you need to ask, you aren't ready to know.

The leftover crumbs of batter from the fryer.
Heaven.

PandorasXbox · 03/11/2017 21:56

Sounds rank!

FittonTower · 03/11/2017 21:57

I was a regular at my local chippy when I was at my (southern) uni. I taught them about scraps. By the time I left they always had scraps for me, I feel that was my greatest achievement to date.

Ttbb · 03/11/2017 21:58

Dear god, why would you eat that?!

CanIBuffalo · 03/11/2017 21:58

They were called scrumps when I was little.

ssd · 03/11/2017 21:59

I asked up here once, they looked at me like I was daft
