CFN patio doors, sangria, ken from the shop update

Hello all, most of you probably won’t know what I’m on about but for those of you that do, I feel that I owe you an explanation. A friend alerted me to a few threads where I’d been called a troll etc.

I’ve been through a very long process with NDN about the doors (which I had been told were going to be replaced/ wall reinstated etc)

I had also been told by my lawyer that all was fine.

The planning dept have been on my side, as per all previous threads.

This all seemed to be going ahead until I returned home to find half of my flat wall caved in.

I had to move out to stay with a friend. The whole thing has been a total nightmare and it is still not resolved. My wall has been partially fixed, the patio doors remain and no one has seen hide nor hair of NDN or the builders for months.

My flat is now uninhabitable for the foreseeable and there are legal implications, planning laws and listed building laws which all have to be agreed and adhered to before anything will be done, apparently.

This may be terribly outing but I am beyond caring. I was told not to post on here, however, the advice I received was second to none and so I thank you all for that.

My grandma has been unwell so I have been back and forth to Spain, seems like all is against me!

Sorry I disappeared for so long, but you can imagine how awful it has been, I’m in a better place now, so thought it was time to come back and let you know that I’m not some fantasist making up stories about doors 😂

Hope to see some familiar names on the thread!

Oh @WhatIsThisWatt so lovely to hear from you but what an awful situation for you. Fucking awful CFNs. And poor SoanGran and her Paella pan!

Just hope it is resolved. Xxx

usualGubbins · 05/11/2017 20:31

So sorry to hear this Watty, even with all our building regs etc you still get these CFs who think they know best... Hope all gets resolved very quickly, your insurance company should be stepping up and dealing with this for you.

Breadwithgarlicon · 05/11/2017 21:13

Thanks for the update, Watty. I've name changed so you won't recognise me now but I've been with you since the start. I'm so sorry for everything - it sounds awful. I honestly wish you all the best and hope it all resolves very soon. Flowers

ShakespearesSisters · 06/11/2017 22:43

I've just found this update, I still had a tab open with the last thread on it and checked it periodically. So disappointed for you to hear that your gran has been ill and on top of everything else your wall caved in and the perpetrators are no where to be found.
I'll cross my fingers for a speedy resolution but I feel this is sadly going to be a long road to follow with you.
Sending you some positive vibes x x x

Just spent an entire work day reading through these threads Blush

Really, REALLY, feeling for you right now, OP - what a grotesque invasion into your life...it beggars belief that people can reach adulthood with that much entitlement and ignorance.

I had cause to post a CFN thread this year, and MNers made the situation so much more bearable too - it's a wonderful place this, eh!

Wishing your gran a speedy recovery back to full health, and sending you as much support as a stranger on the internet can(!) Flowers Gin

Raindancer411 · 11/11/2017 07:59

Is there any more new threads I have missed?

MyOtherProfile · 11/11/2017 14:51

I wondered the same.

VivaLeBeaver · 11/11/2017 15:00

So can you not get your house fixed until you can track them down? Or will your insurance cover it and let them chase the neighbours? Hope it gets sorted soon.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 11/11/2017 15:01

Oh, OP, that all sounds horrific Sad

I hope it all gets sorted for you without too much disruptive to you and your family Flowers

Wattyy thank you for coming back and updating - I lurked on all 10 previous threads and updated DH on them too.** We were stunned by the cheeky fuckery back then.
I did check back on the last thread periodically hoping for an update and a happy restoration of the wall.**

I’m sorry that things have turned out far worse for you.** It’s always been a suspicion that the CFs were perhaps foreigners who bought the property as an investment - which could fit with them suddenly disappearing and nothing happening to rectify the problems they’ve caused.

What are your insurers/solicitor/planners doing to rectify this? Surely they can’t leave you homeless indefinitely?

Hope SpanGran is feeling better.**

GuntyMcGee · 11/11/2017 17:30

*apologies for random boldness in previous post

Oliversmumsarmy · 11/11/2017 17:39

*Viv that’s what I thought. No one can find them.

They don’t seem to be registered anywhere.

They’ve either fled the country or are some kind of master criminal gang. Which is a half joke but scary thought at the same time*

You don't think you could take over their place now they have conveniently made the 2 into 1.

After all do you think they would object at any point in the futureGrin

yowerohotesies · 11/11/2017 22:19

Maybe you can sue them in absentia and the court will award you ownership of their flat as redress? No idea if that's legally possible but they seriously owe you and their flat is one asset they can't take with them.

SeraphinaDombegh · 11/11/2017 22:26

Crikey, Watty. I'm so sorry, what a balls up. I'm hoping and praying that CFN get tracked down soon and things can be sorted. Thanks for updating us Flowers

coconutpie · 11/11/2017 23:18

Wow, that is crazy! I can’t believe your Home is now uninhabitable thanks to those CFNs. Hope SpanGran recovers quickly.

Oliversmumsarmy · 12/11/2017 08:05

The owners of the next door if they do turn up will probably face so many fines and reparation bills to put everything right it is probably cheaper for them to just walk away.
If they paid cash
I think you should take over their flat. Not say anything and after (not sure how long it is) i think 12 years declare the flat yours.
Or if it had a mortgage I would be getting in touch with the mortgage company to possibly buying it at a cut down price or the very least getting them to do the work to put stuff right.

After all if it is mortgaged and the mortgage company repossess to sell on they cannot send viewers round whilst you in theory are watching tv or eating dinner in your flat with a gaping hole with a window onto your private home.

It could have a silver lining

ferrier · 12/11/2017 08:14

Just found this thread and well, it's nice to have an update but omg, is their no end to their incompetence?
Flowers So sorry you have to deal with this Watty.

TheLittleShirt · 12/11/2017 17:02

Can't believe that I have only just caught up on the update. Not the resolution we were hoping for.

Ropsleybunny · 13/11/2017 18:17

I was on the original thread. I'm so sorry to read of the troubles you are having Watty. Flowers

Justbookedasummmerholiday · 13/11/2017 18:19

Welcome back. Hope Wineis getting you though this.

starrybee · 17/11/2017 17:43

Was a regular lurker on the other threads and have just searched for an update and found this...I'm so sorry Watty, this all sounds so awful and stressful.

If the solicitors can't find them, can the police get involved? Surely this is criminal damage?

I hope you get a resolution soon.

FuzzyCustard · 17/11/2017 18:49

Ye gods watty, what a ghastly update. I am so sorry it has turned into this long and horrible nightmare for you and hope something can be resolved very soon preferably with a HUGE compo cheque for you

I need a Vlad and Vanka HandyUsefulToolwithAddedPaellaPan. Does JML make them?

Ikanon · 17/11/2017 21:24

What a shame OP

I was on your other posts under a different name and am so sorry to hear you're seriously inconvenienced by the CFN and your lovely SpanGran is poorly to boot.

CandleWithHair · 17/11/2017 21:38

Oh no, what an absolute bloody nightmare watty

Have you got any indication of how long you’re likely to be out of your home for? I cannot believe the CFNs have just upped and gone like that.
I wish you could tell us their names, I am willing to bet good money the sleuths of MN would have them tracked down within the week!

Sending you and spangran much love!
