..and yet still specify that all they are interested in meeting is women in their 20s with no kids?

Do they seriously think there is an underground bunker somewhere just outside the M25 full of nubile 21-year-olds just gagging to fondle their balding pate?

Gah.

I have a single male friend who is 46. He will not consider women above the age of 38, and ideally wants younger.
He actually said about women over 40 'yuck, I couldn't.'
I think he will stay single.

Psycho · 11/04/2007 19:12

and he's bald.
and short.

but apart from that very nice, if anyone is interested??

lou33 · 11/04/2007 19:13

i've had to go on these sites to advertise another place, as a way of getting more traffic

some of the things they say are rotten

lou33 · 11/04/2007 19:13

lol thats funny psycho, tell him i say the same thing about men his age

Snaf · 11/04/2007 19:22

The site I've been on is okay, I think - it's not sleazy or anything like that but - it is depressing, from that pov.

It's rather sad to think that 31 may have been my last hoorah, romantically-speaking

harpsichordcarrier · 11/04/2007 19:26

ha! this always makes me pmsl in dating ads.
male 39 seeks female 19-35
shallow

harpsichordcarrier · 11/04/2007 19:26

blimeyt psycho he sounds a right good catch.
whyever is he single

lou33 · 11/04/2007 19:29

i'm shallow tho as i wont date anyone over about 32, or younger than 25

Wotzsaname · 11/04/2007 19:32

So how old are the men that 40 year old woman get to date ... 60+ ? blardy hell!

tribpot · 11/04/2007 19:32

One of my (male) friends is like this. 37 and he thinks that a nubile twenty-something lies in his future. There's a gorgeous girl at work he fancies (and in fairness, I think she is leading him on a bit for her own ego, I don't think she has any serious designs on him).

LadyMacbeth · 11/04/2007 19:35

My friend is dating a (married) 47 year old. She is 31, slim, pretty, blonde, successful, rich... so it's examples like this that keep such men waiting in hope.

lou33 · 11/04/2007 19:38

i'm 40, see my post below wotza!

Earlybird · 11/04/2007 19:41

My impression is that these sorts of age gaps work if the girl is young/nubile/attractive and the man has a fat wallet. Sweeping generalisation, but much evidence to support....

Wotzsaname · 11/04/2007 19:44

lou33 go girl. any nice ones?

Judy1234 · 11/04/2007 19:58

I know plenty of men over 50 who have girlfriends in their 20s and 30s. I think it just depends on the male income sadly. Such are British women today.

electra · 11/04/2007 20:01

But why are they on dating sites in the first place? Perhaps because they have upset the women they've met in RL with their attitude

electra · 11/04/2007 20:01

Xenia - you mean gold-diggers?

Earlybird · 11/04/2007 20:05

I don't know I would classify it as gold-diggers. Many older men want young/nubile, and many younger women want to lead an expensive lifestyle - or at least one not readily affordable if they were involved with a younger man who is probably less established professionally.

fizzbuzz · 11/04/2007 20:19

I remember at age 33 being asked out by a man of 47. When I told him no, he was too old for me, he just couldn't believe it, and refused to take me seriously! .

Then, when I insisted he got offended. I didn't want a boyfriend 14 years older than me. What planet are these men on FGS?

Snaf · 11/04/2007 20:27

Not all of them, Xenia. Which is rather my point.

I can honestly say I have never been out with a man for his money or status or anything like that.
I think that is the very antithesis of attraction

carol3 · 11/04/2007 20:38

god, i thought it was just me!
have so many old bald guy's contact me, started to think thats what future holds on the other hand also get 18 yr olds looking for experiance!
Have all but given up on the whole internet dating thing.
