Has anyone ever been on a date with someone they met on a dating site? I've considered it but think it would be really cringey and awkward, especially the first date.

A friend of my husband is pushing 40 and won't even consider anyone about 30. He's not only got all of this criteria, he actually thinks he's pretty much perfect. DH and I are moving house having renovated our current place (second time we've done this and we've done fairly well out of it). DH was talkign with this bloke at the weekend regarding our next move and he basically said that we didn't know what we were doing and that it really was about time that we "learned about Guildford". So kind of him to provide such patronising advice when not needed or requested.
