..and yet still specify that all they are interested in meeting is women in their 20s with no kids?

Do they seriously think there is an underground bunker somewhere just outside the M25 full of nubile 21-year-olds just gagging to fondle their balding pate?

Gah.

I'm sure the media doesn't help. In films and in real-life Hollywood, there are all these good-looking middle-aged-and-older actors (Connery, Pacino, Brosnan, De Niro, Douglas) getting it on with willing nubile wenches twenty or even thirty years their junior. It sends out the signal that this is perfectly normal, and even expected.

What's the website BGD? We need a dating website thread for recommendations.

Judy1234 · 13/04/2007 12:18

Watch this link on utube which shows how much people can pretend in chat rooms. I emailed it to my 3 oldest - all 18 or over.

chocolattegirl · 13/04/2007 14:02

Yeuch

Judy1234 · 13/04/2007 14:30

Yes, but it does illustrate what is out there very well. I know someone who very keenly enthusiastic went off to meet the internet friend in a bar and "she" was a 6 foot man. What my friend couldn't understand is why pull that deception and then meet? Weird.

expatinscotland · 13/04/2007 15:10

I used to rule out younger men entirely.

I'm so glad I stopped doing that!

DH is 6.5 years younger. He was 24 when we met and WAY more mature than many 40 year-olds I'd been wasting my time with.

chocolattegirl · 13/04/2007 15:21

Xenia - I'd have to ask them why they looked so different from their description/photo.

Before legging it .

Judy1234 · 13/04/2007 17:58

I suspect in practice there is more of a problem of women suggesting they are 3 stone lighter than they are than men but I may be wrong. Just going by what men have told me.

ChelseaDagger · 13/04/2007 18:10

That link is sinister xenia

foxinsocks · 13/04/2007 18:11

lou33 · 13/04/2007 18:11

i found it quite amusing

good for innocents who might not have realised that people are not always who they say they are tho

Debsanddan · 13/04/2007 18:20

The whole idea of older men going for younger women didn't bother me until my dad (62, married 3 times & divorced from my mum for 15 years) said he'd met a girl on a dating website. She's 28 and I'm 27!!!!!!!

ChelseaDagger · 13/04/2007 18:24

It really gave me the creeps, especially "Beth". Yuk!

Judy1234 · 13/04/2007 19:30

I didn't get to watch to the end of it but I think it's important parents do watch it if they aren't very clued up about what their younger teenagers might be doing on line.

lou33 · 13/04/2007 19:32

the end was funny

MrsWho · 13/04/2007 21:13

Just watched part of the film (it kept jumping or was that just me?) very weird.

lou33 · 13/04/2007 21:14

Judy1234 · 14/04/2007 09:49
