Bullshit. Or he has very rich spoilt friends. 80 quid a week is incredibly generous (honestly would say it's on the spoiling side), tell him to get a job if he wants more money.

£80! I was given £20 a MONTH if I’d been judged to have done enough around the house to warrant it. When I was 15 I went out and got my first job and have worked ever since. At 16 he should’ve out earning the £200 per week!

My about to be 15yo gets £45 per month plus sch lunches paid for (usually about another £50). That's quite a lot in my view and we are not badly off.

That's 10 grand a year. I'm also calling bullshit. £80 a week is also an incredible amount. My daughter got about £20 a week and her mobile paid for... I also got her a job in the hotel I ran doing breakfast shifts at the weekend.

What does a sixteen year old living at home spend £80 a week on? No car to fill, I assume most food is school lunch or at home, no bills to pay....

DH and I were trying to curb our needless spending recently and started living on £25 a week walking around money. What the hell does your kid spend £320 a month on? That's crazy!
