To ask the worst names you have heard?

In the super market today and heard a mum shout "beige" to her daughter...no joke! At first I thought I had misheard Paige...but no, definitely beige.

Got me thinking... what are the worst names you have come across?

It's noreally really about judging other people's name choices... everyone has different tastes and opinions...

I just feel sad that some parents use baby names to make a statement about themselves and don't consider the person who has to live with it/spell it/correct others' pronunciation/explain they're actually a girl/boy or even experience discrimination at work/job interviews because of it....

Maybe better to use the really out-there names on your pets

Met a little Italia this w/e. Wanted to ask if her dad really likes football. Lovely girl though.

shooeghMcFee · 02/10/2017 16:56

I thought I had posted on here already, but never mind. Purely personal: Travis, Hillary, Margaret, Derek.

shooeghMcFee · 02/10/2017 16:57

A woman I know named her daughter Harlequin. Now, there's a reason that name is unusual.

MitMopse · 02/10/2017 16:58

'Chloe - it's got an apostrophe in it' (so C'loe then ?)
Nod and smile, back away from the crazy person...

SliceOfTruth · 02/10/2017 17:01

Maribella

SirRaymondLuxuryYacht · 02/10/2017 17:01

I'm friends with a punk couple who called their daughter Anna-Kay (anarchy) I love it.

ManicUnicorn · 02/10/2017 17:01

Chlamydia.

Yes, really.

AmysTiara · 02/10/2017 17:01

The poster, sorry i can't remember who it was, who knew a Ryangiggs made me laugh.

Poor lad.

I knew a Mercedes years ago. I loved the name.

squoosh · 02/10/2017 17:03

Obvious football names like Ryangiggs (!) Beckham, and Trafford are the worst I think.

FithColumnist · 02/10/2017 17:31

A few years ago a friend of mine taught a boy called Spyder. With the obvious surname beginning in W. Apparently the mother was highly concerned that her child would be bullied- surely she should have thought about that nine years previously?

DrWhooves · 02/10/2017 17:33

I've met children called Ace, Blu and Oceana. And a friend's sister used Nevaeh although I haven't actually met that one.

Raisinsaretoddlercrack · 02/10/2017 17:49

I always wanted to call my first daughter Galadriel but my DH said no. I have a feeling that she would have featured on this thread had he agreed!

Fekko · 02/10/2017 17:53

The threads too long and I only got to page 1 and saw the usual suspects.

Aryan is a traditional Persian name and not pronounced in the way that Mr Hitler would have.

DameGlitterSparkles · 02/10/2017 17:54

Babelynn

DameGlitterSparkles · 02/10/2017 17:56

Fuck off a little boy called RASPBERRY?! 😂😂🙈🙈

0ccamsRazor · 02/10/2017 17:58

Robert Sole
Teresa Tickle
Philip McAvity
Benjamin Doon
Michael Hunt

Oh and Dunstan Dunstan, I did ask if his middle name was Dunstan, he just gave me Hmm look and said 'no that would just be silly' Shock

Gwencooper81 · 02/10/2017 18:05

My daughter's actual name has been mentioned early on in this nasty racist thread.
How lovely to see the name we lovingly chose being mocked openly.
What a bitch.

Fekko · 02/10/2017 18:05

Why racist?

ArbitraryName · 02/10/2017 18:10

One of my friends at school had a boyfriend called mike hunt. What were his parents thinking?

DameGlitterSparkles · 02/10/2017 18:11

Not liking a certain foreign sounding name isn't racist FFS. My niece is mixed race - if someone said they didn't like her name to my siblings face they'd probably be laughed at and said oh well not your kid. If they called her a name based on her skin colour then they would be called a racist and told to fuck off

Gwencooper81 · 02/10/2017 18:12

Possibly not racist then, I saw the names Precious and Mercedes mentioned .. but I skimmed reason anger so possibly our of context.
I still think the poster is a bitch though, and her username is shit Grin

DameGlitterSparkles · 02/10/2017 18:12

Fekko some people seem to think pulling the race card (or other discriminatory term card) means their opinion is correct and they win 🙄

troodiedoo · 02/10/2017 18:14

I went to school with a hen (ry) farmer.

Gwencooper81 · 02/10/2017 18:14

Ffs *I skim read in anger, so possibly out of context.
No, disliking a foreign name isn't racist, but mocking it for being 'chavvy' ' made up' or 'stupid' is horrid and rude.
