What the actual fuck?! I have just joined mumsnet and can say I will be leaving it after the negativity I've experienced. I joined expecting women helping women.
Women encouraging other women. Whether that's with their children, their marriage or their careers?! 'Insta mums' are mums who have decided a career in instagramming! And why the fuck not?! Before you ask no I am not an insta mum. Not that I wouldn't want to be - I just can't be bothered to tidy. But they do! They make their homes beautiful and enjoy decorating and showing their efforts off. Other women are inspired and they can bring many other women joy and happiness. Who are you bringing joy and happiness too? Going into the internet and plastering negative energy and bitter comments is not helpful, not nice and not at all fucking productive! You bitch about these women spending their days cleaning and shopping and not 'caring for thier kids' but how are you fucking idiots any better?!? Your too busy slagging off other hard working women to get your kicks. It's sad. Pathetic and downright bullying.
Something's that have been posted have hurt 'insta mums' and have caused upset - what have they actually done to you?? You are no better than the disgusting internet trolls who target celebrities or others who are slightly better looking or better off than yourselves. Get a grip.

yes it really does look that way! hint hint hint.....

SWLDMUM · 14/03/2018 15:23

Their content is so appallingly bland and yes, "weird" these days - I just can't imagine why brands are still wanting to jump into bed with them. They may well have large followings but it's just a big, crazy Echo Chamber of other bored baby bloggers sharing the love (and likes) in a desperate attempt to get on the bandwagon and maybe, just maybe, receive "a gifted" freebie one day.....(what an aspiration!) Still, it provides hours of laughs and p* takes in our PR office....bit like a good old game of Bingo Lingo during a really tedious meeting but with so much more free fodder (see what I did there.....!!)

shesakeeper · 14/03/2018 15:23

We see you, FOD. Oh yes, we see you.

Yes I saw both their insta stories last night. I hadn't actually been that cynical until I saw that!!
What job does he do out of interest?

Babaloo88 · 14/03/2018 15:59

It was just embarrassing!

Does anyone follow maggslondon? They are more YouTube base. I find them
Quite odd too. They used to be really relatable- A couple with a baby living in london. Making videos for their son, so they say. Now apparently they have been ‘priced out’ of London. Living in bath in a £4500 a month house. Anyway, I was watching one of her insta stories and her eldest son Greyson- told her to ‘shut up!’ I was just so shocked! I mean he is 4?? She just laughed it off and said he has ‘sass’! Just completely took me off guard!

Iminthecclubnow · 14/03/2018 16:22

Wow, I was just thinking 'MOD/FOD wouldn't be so blatant about blagging free products'...... Then I watched the stories.... Ahem.

shesakeeper · 14/03/2018 16:28

Can't wait to watch him unbox all his free shit later this week...

easypeasylife · 14/03/2018 16:44

I thought perhaps they were hoping for a child free holiday...MOD mentioned how tired Simon is, he said how is is always looking after everyone, then MOD said that his friend recently came back from Dubai and enjoyed it so much and is now looking really well Hmm Would they really try to get free moisturizers? You can buy those in the pound shop and there is plenty of advice online I'm sure he could google.

shesakeeper · 14/03/2018 16:53

I think the bubble is close to bursting for a lot of instaparents, and I think they know it tbh. Motherpukka is already on a hiatus. She's savvy and sniffs the way the wind is changing...

greengrass1234 · 14/03/2018 17:02

I can feel some sort of bubble busting. When Caroline hirons blew up I jumped on the skin care bandwagon and spent a tonne on skin care . I am now so over consuming all the time and I'm sick of it being used as constant entertainment.

Mumofkids · 14/03/2018 17:15

I kind of hope it does burst as Instagram has changed so much. She many of them just seem fame hungry and will sell their soles and their children for any price. Gone are the cute little homemade products and kids clothes as Instagram no longer shows posts in order of posting. Several lovely little accounts have gone as they simply were never being shown in feeds. FOD and mod thrive on attention whether it's positive or negative. Unlike MP, they appear completely unreal and don't answer any valid points. But something about their homelife now is completely joyless. They both seem exhausted, far less happy outside of London like the house just grey and more grey.

Mumofkids · 14/03/2018 17:16

'so many and souls 🙄🙄

Babaloo88 · 14/03/2018 17:20

Why is MP on a break?

shesakeeper · 14/03/2018 17:26

I'm not going to speculate about the happiness of specific instagram slebs, it's not particularly relevant to any of this anyway, and just another thing for them to seize upon instead of addressing the real issues.

But where can it all go, really? How many more relatively well off white women do we need in our lives? And how many more hair and lifestyle products can they flog us?

WipsGlitter · 14/03/2018 17:33

@Babaloo88 she did a photo shoot with hello / next for mums of the year or something and there was backlash as they were all white. She explained herself but IKEA's getting a lot of grief.

Babaloo88 · 14/03/2018 17:37

@wipsglitter oh poor thing. I hope she finds herself again. I really do find her feed entertaining and really relatable. I actually don’t think she’s been on a ‘partnership’
Holiday?

Badmotherpukka · 14/03/2018 17:38

@WipsGlitter @Babaloo88 that’s right, just edging back after the shit hit the fan last week. And also trying to work out how to move forward with our flexible working campaign. Lots of valid points on here, which have been thrown into the mix.

VileyRose · 14/03/2018 17:39

Most of them lose popularity as the kids get older.

Smellthecovfefe · 14/03/2018 17:45

There doesn't seem to be much sign of it stopping though, FoD has gained 300k followers in a year. Perhaps people who followed them before it was so overtly commercial are a bit cheesed off but there are plenty of new followers to fill their shoes. Maybe they just see a few older followers becoming disillusioned as a price they are prepared to pay for growing their business. I mean, they don't owe their followers any favours really - even if they have cultivated a feeling of online friendship with followers in the past - its not real.

WipsGlitter · 14/03/2018 17:47

I take the followers with a huge pinch of salt - bought!

shesakeeper · 14/03/2018 17:47

It would potentially be more lucrative for MOD to have another baby than to write another book. But imagine if she had a boy! What would FOD do with his who 'ERK! Outnumbered!' schtick?!

greengrass1234 · 14/03/2018 17:48

I do wonder if they feel any pressure to have another.

shesakeeper · 14/03/2018 17:52

I bet they make more money from Instagram than they do from their books. I'd bet my house on it.

greengrass1234 · 14/03/2018 17:54

You make fuck all from books don't you?

appleblossomtree · 14/03/2018 17:57

MOD and FOD just seen so unhappy.
