What the actual fuck?! I have just joined mumsnet and can say I will be leaving it after the negativity I've experienced. I joined expecting women helping women.
Women encouraging other women. Whether that's with their children, their marriage or their careers?! 'Insta mums' are mums who have decided a career in instagramming! And why the fuck not?! Before you ask no I am not an insta mum. Not that I wouldn't want to be - I just can't be bothered to tidy. But they do! They make their homes beautiful and enjoy decorating and showing their efforts off. Other women are inspired and they can bring many other women joy and happiness. Who are you bringing joy and happiness too? Going into the internet and plastering negative energy and bitter comments is not helpful, not nice and not at all fucking productive! You bitch about these women spending their days cleaning and shopping and not 'caring for thier kids' but how are you fucking idiots any better?!? Your too busy slagging off other hard working women to get your kicks. It's sad. Pathetic and downright bullying.
Something's that have been posted have hurt 'insta mums' and have caused upset - what have they actually done to you?? You are no better than the disgusting internet trolls who target celebrities or others who are slightly better looking or better off than yourselves. Get a grip.

This thread is really embarrassing"

Agree. It should probably just be deleted, it doesn't show mumsnet in a good light!

LornaMumsnet · 18/01/2018 10:55

Hi Folks,

Just popping on here to say robust debate and critique is fine - everyone is free to voice their opinions, but please do be civil and polite - posts that are not in the spirit will be deleted.

Why did you delete that? It's the bloody truth!

Jeez.... this place!

PippyPopPop · 18/01/2018 21:05

Some people need to find a better hobby other than bad mouthing people they don't know on the internet behind an anonymous username. Hmm seriously. It's like some people weren't taught the whole "if you've got nothing nice to say don't say anything at all" lesson when they were kids! These ladies are making a living and it's got nothing to do with you if you don't agree with their actions. Just don't follow and if you chose to then keep your opinions to yourself as you have the option to unfollow them all. It's very, very easy.

Like you're doing? Hmm

PippyPopPop · 18/01/2018 21:55

😂😂😂 oh my, it never ends!

RunningOutOfCharge · 18/01/2018 22:44

Nothing nice to say blah blah.... why should we not say what we think? Those kids are being exploited and put in danger

Idiots

For their 15 mins of fame

VileyRose · 19/01/2018 10:27

Somethings I find annoying are when stories are being done and they have excessive use of the word 'so and weird tapping of items with a painted nail. I don't know why this bothers me, it's just odd.

That said, I feel sorry for many. What a pressure. I wouldn't want that pressure to document everything. How about just enjoying it rather than have people waiting for your pics.

SunSeaSalt · 19/01/2018 12:21

Viley Argh! I hate the painted nail thing too.

An account called braidsandblooms is the worst for this!

Fucking nightmare

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 19/01/2018 12:51

I think they have to use the word so as sn intro. It's to make it sound as though the blogger has actually been asked a question and is responsing rather than just rambling away on their own

Do you mean tapping the screen?

wisterialanes · 19/01/2018 13:47

Yes I feel sorry for them in a way because it must be a nightmare having to make constant stories out of everyday goings on, that most people wouldn't find remotely interesting.

I wonder do those who are managed have to do a certain amount of stories each day/week? There is one family I follow who update their story literally every 15 minutes, I don't even watch most of the time as it is the same thing again and again. I did watch one this morning, it was the little girl eating breakfast and she was shouting "no pictures! no pictures!" and the mum thought this was really funny and her further stories were her 'sneaking' up on her. The girl isn't even 3 yet and I suppose she has grown up with the camera/go pro out constantly, a bit sad really.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 19/01/2018 13:57

What I want to know is how to people manage to constantly chunter whilst out with the pram? Do they have one hand constantly stuck on front of them?

wisterialanes · 19/01/2018 14:12

They probably have a go pro attached to the pram. I saw FoD has at least 2 fixed in his car. When you think of it like that it is actually a pretty crap set up, I'm not sure that it is worth the money.

anyalovesrose · 19/01/2018 14:46

@wisterialanes

He is working with Renault and they came with the car so he can create videos for them. Anna MP is doing the same campaign, it’s just an easier and safer way of filming

wisterialanes · 19/01/2018 17:01

Interesting anya. I meant a crap setup as in it must take up a lot of your time. I really couldn't be bothered. Can I ask if you are required to do a certain amount of stories per day/week/month?

anyalovesrose · 19/01/2018 19:20

@wisterialanes for Renault?

wisterialanes · 19/01/2018 22:52

No not specifically Renault, just any company that sponsors you. I saw earlier that MP is 'under' Gleam, are you too? What sort of conditions do these people put on you? I'm genuinely curious!

anyalovesrose · 19/01/2018 23:05

@wisterialane
I really don’t have a strategy or a format for my instagram. I use my phone to take pictures,
post in real time, never ever photoshop or FaceTime because being authentic is very important to me. In terms of #ads depending on the content I may be contracted to posting 1 photo and 1/2 stories which would always say if it was an ad. An agent works as the ‘middle man’ draws up contracts, negotiates the fee and generally just makes sure whoever their representing is well looked after. They don’t have any say in what I do or post. As you’ll see some days I post and do stories and some days I don’t. There really isn’t anything more to it than that.

Haha I thought it was just me, this gets me too!! 'Mummy in the know' (love her but...) does this all the time.

Estellanpip · 19/01/2018 23:33

Some people love the tapping ect, it's good ASMR

KERALA1 · 20/01/2018 08:22

My other question for insta parents is how do you deal with your own child's social media use? My 11 year old is desperate to be on instagram but after careful consideration we are not allowing it (see the children's commissioner statement a few weeks ago about pre teen social media it's a real issue for a lot of families).

You would be on shaky ground monitoring and standing firm about their social media use if you yourself had been posting images and content about them since they were born and too young to consent? They don't stay cute babies or curly haired moppets for that long what happens when they grow up?

wisterialanes · 20/01/2018 08:57

Really? It just sends the message that "I can't think of anything to say/do but I need to do a story".

Thanks for sharing that @anya.
