Yanbu. It's filthy.

NoCapes · 06/09/2017 21:01

Eurgh

Quirkydamsel · 06/09/2017 21:01

Not if you had a naice piece of boiled Ham with it

LilaoftheGreenwood · 06/09/2017 21:01

Oof at least put some naice ham on there and make it a "light supper".

absolutelynot · 06/09/2017 21:01

heinous. I feel it's even more vile than ice cream and custard

Quirkydamsel · 06/09/2017 21:02

Classic school dinner also had beetroot with it , the mash was pink from the beetroot bleeding into it

MrsJayy · 06/09/2017 21:02

Oh jeez that is rank lettuce and mash who ate that is there an option to disown them Grin

LilaoftheGreenwood · 06/09/2017 21:03

Is it you eating this OP?

BettyOBarley · 06/09/2017 21:04

YANBU - that is just wrong!

Then again I can't stand anything hot on the same plate as salad, especially something like lasagne where the sauce touches it.. Ugh....

OverTheHammer · 06/09/2017 21:04

No I would never do such a thing! I witnessed it earlier and have been bemused by it ever since. I mean, why would you do that??! Savages.

OP posts:
ImMrsBrightside · 06/09/2017 21:05

Yep that's wrong. Salad and new potatoes or jacket potato = fine.

hidinginthenightgarden · 06/09/2017 21:05

That is very strange combo. They need re-educating.

LilaoftheGreenwood · 06/09/2017 21:07

Mmm warm limp lettuce

FurryDogMother · 06/09/2017 21:07

It's allowed once a year, on Boxing Day, when lunch should be cold turkey and ham, mash, pickled walnuts, cranberry sauce, and salad. It's the law in my family.

ShapelyBingoWing · 06/09/2017 21:07

You can't pretend the salad is cabbage and just chuck some ham on it to make it acceptable!!

Who on earth served up salad and mash??? Raised in a bloody barn they were.

Bellini81 · 06/09/2017 21:08

No it definitely doesn't go...Envy

MrsJayy · 06/09/2017 21:11

I have had (don't knock it)roast potatoes and salad on a few boxing days it was lovely

BumWad · 06/09/2017 21:12

Grim

CreepyPasta · 06/09/2017 21:12

Of course it goes! Salad, boiled egg, sliced ham and a big wodge of mash. All covered with salad cream. One of my favourite childhood meals.

Could never understand why DH and DC don't like it Blush

mutantninja · 06/09/2017 21:17

creepypasta I feel your user name speaks volumes.

Crunchymum · 06/09/2017 21:17

I do mash and salad occasionally. Always with some kind of meat though. It goes well with Cajun chicken. Or homemade breaded chicken breasts.

KurriKurri · 06/09/2017 21:18

This was school dinner on 'salad' day - lumpy mash, some lettuce/tomato/cucumber/beetroot, a slice of some sort of meat (animal of origin unknown) and a massive metal jug of mayonnaise (1 part salad cream 99 parts water)

It was so awful it was kind of nice in that you knew what you were getting so didn't get over excited Grin

MrsJayy · 06/09/2017 21:19

creepypastaCos it is rank that is why, your family think you are disgusting Grin

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 06/09/2017 21:20

Because they are normal, CreepyPasta.

Mash and salad. What fresh Hell.....

Where did you see this, OP, was it at the London Dungeon or an incredibly poncy hipster cafe?

gunsandbanjos · 06/09/2017 21:20

Yuck.
