What's a mucky tucky?

SoftKittySillyKitty · 07/09/2017 00:11

It's a bread and dripping sandwich

brapbrapbrap · 07/09/2017 00:43

Mmmmmm, love a bit of salad and mash with either chicken, ham, boiled eggs or cheese.

But then I am one of these people that eats their food separately (and in a particular order), so it wouldn't mix until it reaches my belly.

EamonnWright · 07/09/2017 00:49

Baked beans and a runny egg on the same plate should carry a mandatory sentence Confused

AdaColeman · 07/09/2017 02:07

Cheese salad (grated cheese) served with mash was a regular school lunch for me, not a favourite I must say.

Bread & dripping on the other hand is a delicious classic! Brew
In Poland you sometimes get it as an appetiser, large bowl of dripping and hunks of bread, rather like dipping bread in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Some Americans were baffled as to what it could be, and when it was explained to them they almost fainted with shock that people would eat dripping.

AdaColeman · 07/09/2017 02:11

Oh forgot to say, I love that combo of hot meat sauce say mousakka or lasagna with crispy crunchy green salad, just fab! Wine

Elllicam · 07/09/2017 02:22

I used to have mash, salad and cheese from the works canteen on a Wednesday. It was the day the vegetarian option was fish Confused. It was ok actually.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 07/09/2017 07:27

YABU I love salad and mash. The contrast of warm and mushy with cold and crunchy is amazing!

SoftBlocks · 07/09/2017 07:30

Awful. If you made the mash into some sort of potato cake and fried it maybe a bit better. YANBU.

Floellabumbags · 07/09/2017 07:36

I used to love bread and dripping with lots of salt (before I became vegetarian).

SerfTerf · 07/09/2017 07:38

MrMessy · 07/09/2017 08:31

What are you on about, it is the only way to serve a fried breakfast!

MrsJayy · 07/09/2017 08:35

Ahem there is nothingwrong with chips and gravy you leave you husband be,

PickAChew · 07/09/2017 08:38

Put green lumps in the mash and add a slice of corned beef and you're right in 1970s school dinner territory.

EamonnWright · 07/09/2017 08:43

Beans have no place on a breakfast plate, MrMessy

maddiemookins16mum · 07/09/2017 08:43

I can never have salad on the same plate as hot food 😊 (Although put up with it when eating out, but at home salad goes in salad bowls).
We do however have mash, beetroot, pickles etc with cold meat on Boxing Day. I hate it, but suffer it for DP who says it's traditional (must be a Kent thing, never had it in the Midlands).

BastardGoDarkly · 07/09/2017 08:47

Now you're talking Ada perfection.

Mash and fucking salad though?! Piss...off.

MrMessy · 07/09/2017 09:37

Why not? It is all a bit dry without the beans. I have actually never had a fried breakfast in a cafe that didn't come with baked beans.

cushioncovers · 07/09/2017 10:37

Opens fridge and looks loving at block of beef dripping that I use on my roast potatoes and parsnips.

Beans on a cooked breakfast. Lush Salad n mash. Lush
Gravy/curry sauce poured all over chips. Lush.

Realises why I'm fat and leaves thread.

minoandolphin · 07/09/2017 11:14

PinkHeart5913 · 07/09/2017 11:34

Baked beans and a runny egg on the same plate should carry a mandatory sentence I agree 😷 No beans on a breakfast for me!

canhealthyhappen · 07/09/2017 11:42

I'm disgusted and reporting this thread for not having a trigger warning 😷

MrsJayy · 07/09/2017 11:57
