Delivery was due today but it's been returned to the shop and put back. Money will be back in DH's account in 3-5 days.

How can they get away with that? On a fucking Sunday too. Will have to find and borrow money to get us through.

Never again.

I'm bloody starving and so are the DC and we've got nothing.

I hate Tesco.

Did they say why its been returned and not delivered?

punkpuffin · 03/09/2017 18:05

Why was it returned?

Namechangetempissue · 03/09/2017 18:06

That's shit. I presume they were short staffed/driver ill/breakdown? Can you pop to a local garage with shop (have you got any within walking/cycling distance at all?) and grab some mega cheap noodles or bread for toast? If my neighbour was short of food I would happily provide a meal for them, are you close to your neighbours?

Dodie66 · 03/09/2017 18:06

Why? Did they tell you what happened?

Maplestaple · 03/09/2017 18:07

Well the first person told me the driver was poorly and taken to hospital but the 4th person said that was a lie.

OP posts:
Eleventybillionfucks · 03/09/2017 18:07

You must have ignored or missed the delivery
My driver always calls when outside and knocks for at least 5 mins if you don't answer

Maplestaple · 03/09/2017 18:08

No there's no neighbours or anything. Will have to try borrow money and pop to the co op.

Why couldn't they just be honest.

OP posts:
Maplestaple · 03/09/2017 18:08

I didn't miss it they didn't deliver it.

I had this once with Asda. DP (once he got home from work) took the receipt email in store and put everything in a trolley and took it to customer services and they let him take it. Not sure if that would work after they'd processed the refund though.

comedycentral · 03/09/2017 18:10

That's shocking customer service, I find that they have a very 'computer says no' attitude when they need to resolve customer issues. I hope you get something sorted out soon x

Namechangetempissue · 03/09/2017 18:11

3-5 days is crap for money return. Take to Twitter!

Hiphopopotamus · 03/09/2017 18:11

Well if your driver does this eleventy this must surely be the same, all the time, for everyone, even when Tescos themselves say they haven't delivered it Hmm

minoandolphin · 03/09/2017 18:12

Tried social media yet? That's shockingly bad. So many vulnerable and housebound people rely on services like this- could they not deliver tomorrow if someone's off?

Maplestaple · 03/09/2017 18:13

I don't have twitter, it's just so bloody frustrating. I hate liars.

OP posts:
Birdsgottafly · 03/09/2017 18:14

My Tesco only take the money after it is delivered, so to take the money first isn't a nationwide policy.

Complain and ask for a satisfactory explanation. You'll at least get vouchers out of it.

user1490607838 · 03/09/2017 18:16

Amazing how these fuckers take your money in 3-5 seconds, but take 3-5 fucking days to put it back.

Cunts.

You have my sympathy OP. Hope you will all be OK.

TWITTER RANT NOW.

They hate that!

Namechangetempissue · 03/09/2017 18:17

Quick sign up and moan your arse off. You may get somewhere. I formally worked for a major supermarket in HR and then PR and we always went all out to resolve problems posted on social media. I'm not a moaner and have never had to moan myself but in your situation with the lies, no money etc I would.

user1490607838 · 03/09/2017 18:17

If you have the internet, (which you do or you'd not be here haha) make a twitter account up Smile Takes a few minutes.

SilverySurfer · 03/09/2017 18:18

I have never had this problem with Tesco - once a van broke down and the driver delivered in his own car which was amazing service. Not very helpful for you and I'm sorry this has happened. It happened to me the one and only time I tried Ocado so never again.

Pleaseleavealready · 03/09/2017 18:18

My tescos alway takes the money the morning before delivery. I doubt any take it after it's delivery how easy would that be to scan if you didn't actually have the money?! Anyway this happened to me before and no I didn't miss the delivery either it was a no show, no explanation. Also had to wait for the money to be returned to my account before I could do more shopping. Was very frustrating

Pleaseleavealready · 03/09/2017 18:21

My phones messed up sorry. I was trying to say if tescos took the money after delivery it would be very easy to scam. Mine always take it the morning before delivery. Never after and I shop weekly with them.

Ipsie · 03/09/2017 18:22

It will take you 5 minutes to set up a twitter account. Do it, find tescos twitter and post on it. Your money will be returned promptly and probably some vouchers sent to you too. If you have Facebook also find tescos page and post there. If you don't just lie on their Twitter page and say you're all over social media and you'll be posting on each one. I've had a lot of success with companies notoriously poor for customer service taking this route. Like I say, the 5 mins to set up an account is well worth it.

Maplestaple · 03/09/2017 18:23

I have serious rage.

They don't care. I asked for a complaints email and he said that it would just go through to him and there's nothing he can do.

OP posts:
Maplestaple · 03/09/2017 18:24

I'm looking into twitter now.

Returning the money tonight will be impossible.... but you might get it back tomorrow if you kick up enough of a stink to head office.
