I've been eating healthily for TWO WHOLE WEEKS. I mean I know I have about 60lb to lose, but two WHOLE weeks. How bloody long is this going to take?! Wink

How much have you lost? :)

RhiWrites · 30/08/2017 14:55

I have been eating healthily AND excercusing for three months and I'm not skinny yet either. I want my money bank!

WhamBarsArentAsFizzyAsTheyWere · 30/08/2017 14:55

Haha I expect results after I deny myself a chocolate bar.

Impatience is not a virtue but chocolate is Grin

FreeSpiritJen · 30/08/2017 14:56

How much have you lost? Any at all yet?

What do you eat in a day?

How much exercise do you get?

Height? Weight now? Smile

Purplemac · 30/08/2017 14:57

I was too scared to weigh myself the first week so didn't weigh myself until last Friday. I have lost 6lbs since then. I know it's a good start (even though it's all water) but I'd love to just be skinny now please!! Grin

Oh I start dieting after breakfast at 9am sharpish and expect some sort of result by the time I stop for well deserved elevenses Grin

Dontlaugh · 30/08/2017 14:58

You know you're going to be grilled now re calorific intake, current weight etc?
You've to eat a hell of a lot less than you think to lose weight, others will be along with the science I'm sure but that's it in a nutshell.
Plus carbs are not your friend.

Purplemac · 30/08/2017 14:58

I'm 5'7", the wrong side of 200lbs.

I eat low carb - usually a coffee or tea for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch, and some form of protein and lots of veg for dinner. No snacking and I run about 10 miles a week.

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/08/2017 14:59

Are you noticing any change? Because two weeks is when the feedback should start. You feel a little better, you see the point of all of it... DO NOT think about 60lbs. Think about one dress size or a small milestone (going from 180-179lbs for example).

I want to know why I've been running three times a week for a year and don't look like the front of Women's Health yet.

Dontlaugh · 30/08/2017 14:59

Not to cause a row but if you weigh over 200lbs there's no way that's your daily diet. What's your weakness? Crisps? Wine etc?

MsVestibule · 30/08/2017 14:59

My colleague used to ask if we could see the skin sticking to her bones two hours after starting a diet 😀.

Purplemac · 30/08/2017 14:59

I'm eating around 900 calories a day. Which doesn't sound much but I'm not hungry and I'm not going to eat for the sake of it. If I do get hungry then I'll allow myself up to 1200 calories.

Collidascope · 30/08/2017 15:00

I feel like slimness is something you should be able to kind of borrow and pay back -like you would money from a bank. So you decide you want to be thin, you get the thin body instantly, and then you pay for it over the next few months -or years- by eating sensibly.

Dontlaugh · 30/08/2017 15:00

Ok
My Fitness Pal to work out basal metabolic rate and then subsequent diet plan.

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/08/2017 15:00

I'm eating around 900 calories a day. Woah Dude. Unsustainable much? And running on that? I'd have eaten my arm.

timeforabrewnow · 30/08/2017 15:01

Good going - you'll be skinny in no time. I can't run anywhere - let alone 10 miles!

FreeSpiritJen · 30/08/2017 15:01

@Dontlaugh, maybe that is what the OP is eating now. Smile

(Since she started 'eating healthy.)

Have you not lost any OP?

What did you used to eat before. I mean how much have you cut down? And what have you cut out.

Morphene · 30/08/2017 15:01

May I join in the general dissatisfaction with the slowness of weight loss too?

I've lost about 5 kilos over the last month...but I'm still fat! How can this be allowed to happen?

SerfTerf · 30/08/2017 15:01

😂 @dontlaugh immediately assuming that you're doing it all wrong.

Purplemac · 30/08/2017 15:01

Not to cause a row but if you weigh over 200lbs there's no way that's your daily diet. What's your weakness? Crisps? Wine etc?

Not causing a row at all - that has only been my daily diet for the past two weeks! Before then was full of crappy carbs. And I've not been running 10 miles a week for a year, only for the past 2 months - and it's really not enough to effect weight loss when you are eating as poorly as I was.

OP posts:
MsVestibule · 30/08/2017 15:01

dontlaugh I think purplemac is talking about what she's been eating in the last two weeks, not the last ten years!!

FreeSpiritJen · 30/08/2017 15:02

Yeah 900 calories is low. Maybe OK for a week to get you kick started, but not long term.

SerfTerf · 30/08/2017 15:03

I feel like slimness is something you should be able to kind of borrow and pay back -like you would money from a bank. So you decide you want to be thin, you get the thin body instantly, and then you pay for it over the next few months -or years- by eating sensibly.

@Collidscope that is GENIUS and so very civilised. Who do we need to vote for? 😄

SerfTerf · 30/08/2017 15:04

(BTW @dontlaugh, there's no point NCing if you're going to make yourself so recognisable Wink)

Purplemac · 30/08/2017 15:04

Yeah I know 900 cals is low but when you get low carb you tens to lose your appetite for a while. I'm not making a conscious decision to go under 900 that's just what it's working out as. As I said if I'm hungry I'll go up to 1200.

And the running 10 miles a week is four 2.5mile runs, so not particularly gruelling!

Don't get me wrong I'm very happy with a 6lb loss so far (probably more given that I didn't weigh myself for the first week). But I would quite like to skip ahead to being a size 10 again Wink

On the plus side my jeans are baggy...
