Help me remember this cereal!

You have been warned!
I was in the cereal aisle recently and suddenly had a flash back to an awesome cereal, probably around late 90's, I used to love and now I have a massive craving for it.
All I remember is that it was squares, they weren't flat, they were puffed up a bit, they didn't have anything inside them like blueberry wheats do, in fact I don't think they were made of wheat, they were more sugary than that. Kind of yellowey in colour.

Oh god they were so good. Probably discontinued now which is fine but it's driving me mad!

Well, I was correct on the Kinder hippo, if not the prices. Here's the ingredients:
chocopottomus £4.70
cocopops / krave / kinder happy hippo / chocolate milk
More money than sense at the Ceral Killer Cafe .

Oat Krunchies weren't sweet though - unless they changed the recipe? And they were more beige/light brown than yellow.

TinyRick · 01/08/2017 10:10

These? It says they are glazed/sweet

bertie that's what I'm worried about now, having done some very important digging.

They were definitely not a healthy cereal and were very yellow

Corn pops were round.

BertieBotts · 01/08/2017 10:12

Perhaps you're mixing up two cereals in your head? I want to say Golden Nuggets or Golden Grahams from your description, same time period.

WashingMatilda · 01/08/2017 10:12

ancipital tinyrick neither of those, although I did have to have a proper look at both to be sure.

www.quaker.co.uk/oat-and-porridge-product-range/cereals/oat-crisp/oat-crisp/oat-crisp-375g

I think you might be referring to these. My OH loves them! You can still buy them in some supermarkets.

MyLittlePickleBoo · 01/08/2017 10:16

Ah, just read the updates. More yellow? Sorry, I have no idea then!

StepAwayFromCake · 01/08/2017 10:27

I'm sure I remember Oat Pillows, but I can't find them. Not the cereal sort, anyway!

These look similar:

Ah, missed your 'not very healthy' update. Definitely not what I rememberGrin

MaxPepsi · 01/08/2017 10:31

Ancipital......you may not have answered OP but you've got the ones I was thinking of so thank you!!

BertieBotts · 01/08/2017 10:36

Oat krunchies used to have a byline of 'pillows of oaty crunch!' Or something like that. I don't think they were actually called oat pillows though.

Cakedoesntjudge · 01/08/2017 10:53

I can't help on the name but oh my god I now remember them and would love a bowl immediately.

As you were, I'm off to daydream about the elusive cereal...

WashingMatilda · 01/08/2017 11:08

cake I know!!

Gah I remember these too. I can feel the texture of them in my mouth 😩

Spuddington · 01/08/2017 12:11

I really want some corn pops right now.

MumBod · 01/08/2017 12:26

They were Golden Oaties and the character was a pirate.

They went very soggy in milk iirc.

KenDodd those are the ones I was thinking of! Thank you!

madja · 01/08/2017 12:36

Golden Parties, they were by Quaker. They were yellow and lovely!

madja · 01/08/2017 12:37

Oaties I meant, not parties!

JustDanceAddict · 01/08/2017 12:50

Country Store was yum!
