lion that piece is interesting. Not only did Trump know about Jr.'s meeting in advance (he lied about that), he dictated the statement about it (again a lie and not what happened). Every time he opens his mouth he lies.

So I'm not sure I believe his latest tweet... I imagine it's golf all the way. He's so touchy that the press has inferred he is off on holiday (when he continually criticised for Obama taking any time off)

Remember the first press briefing and the crowd size. That's what started it. Lies then. If someone keeps lying and exaggerating, it's hard to believe them when they tell the truth.

It's a pity the White House doesn't have a spare bedroom he could kip in while they're doing the works. And that there aren't any other suitable offices for a President to work from, anywhere in Washington or its environs. A golf resort is the logical choice, really.

Trump won't go to Camp David. His homophobia won't allow it without a name change.

Apparently Lewji a lot of the residents in NJ where he is now are seriously pissed off with him there, lives are disrupted, travel difficult, etc, airport closed the whole time he's there. Security nightmare.

I suppose at least he's spreading the pain around, because all those visits to Mar a Lago earlier in the year were incensing local Floridians.

You know, if its about the golf I am sure he can order a course to be put in around Camp David. But I think its more about putting up x hundred secret service agents at one of his gaudy resorts on the taxpayer's dollar....

The NYT article is very interesting indeed. I just hope I'm not too optimistic in guessing that Pence is too tainted by the Trump saga to really be an option. The man is obviously not the brightest crayon in the box and then there are his misogynistic, scary, hyper-conservative ideas. He gives me the shivers.

Amy's blog makes for sobering reading. I didn't realise so many refugees from the US were crossing the border into Canada. On the heels of the broadcast of the last episode of The Handmaid's Tale in the UK last week, that point alone pulled me up short. Just think about it - a former 'beacon of democracy' is creating refugees. Fuuuuuuck!

If that article in the NYT is true, it's Yuge!!! It's really unheard of for either party to NOT run their incumbent for re-election, although it has happened before (Pierce, Fillmore, Tyler, Andrew Johnson, and Arthur we all denied the party nom). The only one in my living memory not to run for a second term was LBJ, but it was put down to him not wanting to run rather than unpopularity. Now whether he knew he couldn't win due to Viet Nam or that the party basically said we won't back you I don't know.

I just can't see Scrotus going down without a fight. Personally, if the GOP cut him out I expect he'll run third party.

I don't think they'll cut him out - they'd likely lose the base. (At least that will be their perception.) They'll rather keep on trying to 'tame' him.

Definitely! And not because he wants the job, either ...

Actually, I rather think he may not enjoy the job at all. But hell hath no fury as a narcissist scorned, and Trump being Trump I could easily see him go completely Game of Thrones style insane ruler and rain fire and brimstone on the entire nation before he lets anyone, including the GOP, get away with insulting him so.

I hope I'm wrong. Or that he wouldn't find enough people to help him pull it off.
