Can just imagine going into local police station and reporting tyres stolen off my car

CFNE: I want to report the tyres stolen off my car
Officer: That's terrible, where did it happen
CFNE: I abandoned it on a random driveway
Officer: shock confused hmm

An alternative version:

CFNE: I want to report the tyres stolen off my car
Officer: That's terrible, where did it happen
CFNE: I parked without permission on a neghbour's driveway
Officer: Really? You shouldn't have done that.
CFNE: No, probably not but it's not a criminal offence so not your jurisdiction, whereas theft is, so.......

Butif someone left their shopping by accident on your drive and you took three quarters of it, would it technically be theft? It was on your property after all.

I'm in the two wrongs don't make a right camp I'm afraid.

Nicking someone's tyres and then alluding to it on an open forum (which quite often gets quoted in the media) isn't a smart move.

I think the OP has been swept along with this thread but in the cold light if day I'm hoping common sense will prevail.

OP I would get this thread deleted if I were you.

Also I hope CFN hasn't recorded the "theft".
