on friday me and a friend are taking the kids to our local park summer show (kids talent show on a band stand) think deck chairs snd picnic blankets and general kids games children sing on stage ect.

Anyway we are taking a picnic for us all and is it bad that i have ordered a few ready made pimms cans enough for two each.
Will i look like a plonky I am not drinking them to get drunk or tiddly am kust thinking it would be nice to enjoy a pimms on the grass in the sun having fun with the kids.

ProudBadMum · 26/07/2017 19:44

I have a hip flask for such times

flickerty · 26/07/2017 19:45

Do it! Sounds lush Grin

Shockers · 26/07/2017 19:46

Take glasses too though... it won't be nice straight from a can!

thegoodnameshadgone · 26/07/2017 19:46

Or a straw

ImperialBlether · 26/07/2017 19:48

Is this going to be like that thread started by a woman who had an alcohol problem, who was drinking a bottle of wine in the park while her kids played?

Coffeetasteslikeshit · 26/07/2017 19:53

If you're not driving then why wouldn't you?!

hashtagcurious · 26/07/2017 19:54

Get stuck in OP! Wish I was coming 😂

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 26/07/2017 19:55

Get a bag of frozen berries from the supermarket too. Tell yourself they're for the kids, if that makes a difference. Put them in the Pimms. Lush.

May have just outed myself as that is my trademark park move...

IncyWincyGrownUp · 26/07/2017 19:56

I wouldn't, but that's just me.

MrsMotherHen · 26/07/2017 19:58

imperial i dont know how that thread went but i can assure you I dont have an alcohol problem.

I very hardly drink and dont drink to get drunk i just enjoy the taste the reason being my mother was an alcoholic which lead to her death when she was 38.

Id do it

Enjoy!

OhBeggerItsMorning · 26/07/2017 20:42

As long as the park is not in a 'designated public place order' area then what's the problem?

(Our town centre is so you can't drink alcohol in public unless on licensed premises - not on the streets, in parks etc.)

Go on, enjoy yourself.

anchor9 · 26/07/2017 20:48

I wouldn't and I resent how alcohol is introduced into literally every social event but then I too have issues with an alcoholic and am teetotal and very very uncomfortable around drinking as a result Sad

Hudson10 · 26/07/2017 21:08

I love an alcoholic drink --or three- but I personally wouldn't take cans of alcohol to a daytime picnic in the park with the kids.
Just wouldn't sit right.
If it was drinking cans of Stella or Special Brew instead of posh pimms? Would that be the same? If not, what's the difference?

starzig · 26/07/2017 22:07

Not with kids i wouldn't. Also check your local laws, may be illegal.

SellFridges · 26/07/2017 22:10

We've started Fizz Fridays in the park after school.

Plainlycrackers · 26/07/2017 22:11

Isn't that what they are designed for?!🥂🥂

wobblywonderwoman · 26/07/2017 22:11

I think I would - its hardly a really strong drink Pimms... Have a lovely day

ZenNudist · 26/07/2017 22:14

I would. What about your friend?

DrinkMilkAndKickAss · 26/07/2017 22:15

The only thing I'm questioning is your optimism that there will be sun, it's been raining for weeks here!

Hudson10 · 26/07/2017 22:25

I think I would - its hardly a really strong drink Pimms..

Really? Just googled. Can of ready made Pimms - 5.4%. That's pretty strong for a can of alcohol.
Just for context - a can of Stella lager is 4.8%.
Drinking cans of lager in the kids park OK as well? Just curious.
