Can anyone share their tales of similar drunken foolishness to make me feel better???

I can't remember most of details but according to a co worker vomiting and falling asleep in bar were involved 😳

OP posts:

I'm starting to hate the drink too @TableFlowerss I've had nothing but bad experiences with it. I'm only 28 but happy to leave it behind me completely to be honest with you.

It's like something in me cannot just say 'you have had enough' years and years of embarrassing stories for me... it's more of what I 'say' rather than what I do Sad just so cringe.... turn into a total flirt also and it's just so embarrassing

Same. I can’t keep my trap shut and I’m a total liability. I talk utter bollocks and wake up with utter fear wondering what I’ve said or shared….. 🙄

I even delete my social media before I start drinking in an attempt to perving me from posting shight but I usually manage to bypass that and upload it again.

It’s grim. Fizzy pop for me from now on! 😂

When I worked in the City there were so many nights out and so much outrageously drunken behaviour on my part. Vomiting, falling over, all manner of making a huge fool of myself. Generally, however, everyone else was as drunk if not drunker than me and I never came back to work after an afternoon in the pub so drunk that I could hardly walk and had to be sent home because I was an absolute disgrace. So, there is that.

This was in the late eighties/early nineties when booze was pretty much mandatory at my company and I was halfway to alcoholism when I left. These days, I'm pretty sure you'd get sacked for most of the drunken shit we got up to. Also, these days I have a drink - generally just the one - on average once a month or so. The City is not good for your health.

Me too.

@Slimthistime

I know of someone who shat herself so badly that it took 3 people to clean her up. Luckily it was a posh office so they had the party in the office in a bar/dining area, otherwise I suppose a venue would have charged for clearing up?

she laughed it off on Monday but the people who cleaned her up were quite upset, understandably.

anyhoo, I suppose the answer is, don't worry about it, you'll live it down - but for the future, please don't ask anyone who doesn't go on work dos "why don't you...."

the answer is we just don't want to deal with this. Last work do I went to (not current company to be fair) people were so drunk they were collapsing on the dance floor.

I had actually run away from the party to meet a friend !!!! so I met her for a couple of hours, went back to say bye to people and pretend I'd been there all along Grin and ended up apologising to the DJ and other host event manager on the way out. I just said something like "I'm really sorry you have to deal with this". They did look completely pained, I guess when we arrived it didn't seem like it would get as bad as it did.

one poor woman accompanied a drunk vomiting colleague home at 3am - via several night buses because obviously a cab wouldn't take them - to find the door opened by an enraged babysitter and a little kid who wouldn't sleep, saw the state of her dad and screamed "what's wrong with daddy etc".

Babysitter stormed out and my colleague ended up staying the night. We didn't even know said colleague had a kid.

anyhow there is so much you can get stuck with due to a work night out.....never ever again.

so actually OP how about you look after the next person who needs looking after - that will get you back in the good books too.

Having a few too many, singing and embarrassing yourself is one thing. Being so drunk that you shit yourself and vomit over others - just mortifying. I could never show my face at work again if a colleague had cleaned up my shit. never.

@19lottie82

Ahhhhhh it happens to the best of us!

Once on a Xmas night out I sat next to my boss and told him the job was just pocket money to me as I made loads from my own small business, and when someone came out with mojitos he said
"oh I had the best mojitos in Mexico!"
Me "have you been to Mexico?"
Him "yes, I went......"
Me (interrupting him) "who's cares? next!"

And to make things worse i looked down and my skirt was round my waist and my had was on his leg! Cringe!

As someone says you just need to brass neck it on Monday in work, even if you're dying inside!

Amazing. I'd love to interrupt my boss with "who cares? Next!" You would have been a legend in my eyes @19lottie82

I once had a PA who was still in her probationary period, I had no intention of making her permanent, but was too soft to end the contract pre-christmas.
Big christmas do - a couple shagging loudly in one of the toilet cubicles; turned out it was her and the & owner of the company.
I was in a kind of ante-room was doing lines of coke with his girlfriend.

Lavender2018 · 30/10/2021 19:25

I once worked for a company where a senior female manager who was very drunk at a Christmas party, went into the male toilet and did her business and wiped it all over the wall. She walked into work on the Monday morning with her head held high.

PeterIsACockwomble · 30/10/2021 19:34

@Aquamarine1029

Everything, she asked for our opinions, and that's mine.
It's mine, too.
Lorw · 30/10/2021 19:38

I got so drunk that I vomited in a gutter while my line manager held my hair 😂

However I’ve seen my bosses in wayyyyy worse states 😂 every Christmas party one of them always gets red wine down their shirt, sings and dances at the top of their voice in front of everyone and then falls asleep on the bar in a slump so we always have to carry them to the taxi 😂

We always have the best parties and we don’t judge tbh so the Monday mornings are always hilarious recounting everyone’s silly drunkness 🙃

Tilltheend99 · 30/10/2021 19:41

I was always the idiot who had to work the day of the staff party (evening would be covered by staff from another site) It was ultra busy and so only just had time to get ready and no time to eat. Arrived at the venue and all the party food was sealed up for I don’t know when. I had two drinks that I can remember, puked up in the toilets. Walking out in very high heals I slipped on my arse. Chivalrous colleague just stared at me Hmm Couldn’t remember much else. Next day DP is telling me I was so embarrassing as I puked up on the pool table and got chucked out. So I go in cringing and go up to various coworkers apologising for throwing up on the pool table etc DP is killing him self because it was all bs and never happened. Luckily I wasn’t the only person to act like an idiot. One of our friends was banned from staff parties as he had ran off down the motorway screaming about running to ‘town x’ and had to be collected and looked after by a manager.

DP has form for embarrassing me at these things. Another year I was pretty irritated as ‘awards’ were voted for by staff and was a popularity contest. Every supervisor got some kind of award as votes were tied for second and third. Meanwhile I’m the schmuck doing most of the work down there. DP wins something like ‘most improved staff member,’ goes up to collect his award and gives a speech pretending to be proposing to me which sends the room wild.

Of course now we’re married…

EishetChayil · 30/10/2021 19:43

Call me a prude, but if you're getting so drunk you shit yourself, you've got some serious problems.

Tilltheend99 · 30/10/2021 19:49

@SeekingSugar

Wow at the boasting of who behaved worst. You all sound like the slobs decorating the town centres with vomit and piss during the early hours. It's so appallingly brainless and disgusting. I know it's not what you want to hear but it's the truth. You should be ashamed and you have some making up to do. And you are clearly too immature to drink alcohol.
Ok mum Grin

Resign. Immediately.

Mia184 · 30/10/2021 19:55

I waitressed at a restaurant during my student days. I once had a group of about 30 people from a company which included a very drunk woman. She vomited onto the table between the soup and the main course. I filled a bucket with warm water and dishwashing liquid and gave it to her colleagues with a sponge and told them to clean up the mess - which they did.
Her colleagues also managed to get her home. I imagine that she must have been quite embarrassed for the next couple of days.

NeverChange · 30/10/2021 19:59

Very tame compared to most others and I can't tell this as well as the security footage does but...

Years ago I was working in a large corporate office and the Christmas party was held on the function room on the top floor. Always a fairly drunk affair with about 500 staff.

You weren't allowed smoke in the building so 2 colleagues went to the ground floor and went into the back carpark for a cigarette and were fairly tipsy at that stage. They forgot to take their swipcards with them so couldn't get back in, tried ringing a few people but party was in full swing so no one answered. So they end up trapped in the back carpark surrounded by high walls and no way out.

They then decide to escape they would climb over the back gates they moved a large industrial wheelie bin to the gate, one of them climbed on top of it but it collapsed so imhe ended up in the rubbish bin.

The other tried to help but couldn't so thinking there were no other options decided to break a window to try get back in. This set off the fire alarm. Building was evacuated and the back carpark was the assembly point!

Everyone arrives out only to hear Alan shouting "I'm in the bin, someone get me out!!!"

tillytoodles1 · 30/10/2021 20:03

During a works night out several years ago, one of the young lads decided to do a strip tease. He jumped onto a table and took all his clothes off, I still remember his tatty undies. I covered my eyes as they came off to loud cheers. You should have seen his face on Monday morning. Luckily everyone thought it was really funny.

WeeTattieBogle · 30/10/2021 20:04

@NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown

A male colleague ended up in a fight with a man who had dwarfism after spilling a drink all over him. Decided to kneel to talk to him (it was very loud but that wasn't received well) and my colleague ended up getting knocked out with a single punch.
Would it be inappropriate to have laughed a lot at this
Williamshatnershorses · 30/10/2021 20:07

It could have been worse@ethanrayne, where I worked many years ago, one team’s Christmas night out made it into the Sunday papers (News of the World I think?). 😱

parttimemary · 30/10/2021 20:09

Someone I worked with got so drunk at the Christmas party that she decided to dance on the tables...and then fell off. She's now very very senior in the organisation so it clearly didn't harm her career!

I got incredibly drunk at a work party in my early twenties, I still cringe to think about it. Snogged one of our clients, fell over on the dance floor, threw up in the toilets...probably other things I don't remember. So I totally understand how you feel. I just styled it out on the Monday and nobody ever mentioned it.

AlbusDumbledore2234 · 30/10/2021 20:15

I did this at the works Xmas do years ago. Drunk way too much, flirted with half my married colleagues, insulted the boss in front of her, it all came to an end when I passed out in the toilets Grin
Stayed on with the firm for 5 years, no harm done lol.

Eesha · 30/10/2021 20:18

Personally I don't drink and so this kinda stuff never happens to me but I do think it helps makes you bond at work if you do all the drunken stuff. So OP, I wouldn't worry too much as I think everyone will think you are part of the team!
